It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

We aren't selling Bernardo Silva this season. And if we did we aren't replacing him with Neymar
imo we should not be considering to sell him at all. I get about Pep not wanting players unhappy but if he's professional he will get on, because when he's on it he's a ridiculous player.

And yet Simon Jordan will still come out and have the audacity to claim we have a 100mil negative net spend every Summer. What an absolute moron.

Plus Torres money

I always wanted both zinny and cucurella. It's fantastic depth.

I also think with Phillips and with how Bernie is dropping deeper that we will play (we did last season) more of the 4231 with 2 in midfield behind a 10 (usually kdb).

I see no reason why zinny can't be depth here as well, with the other options of rodri, phillips, Bernie and gundogan.

I would even like to see gundogan pushed higher to rotate with kdb more as a 10 than deeper. Look at the aston villa game at the end, pep in one of the rare times last season gave gundogan freedom to score goals and he did.

The season prior gundogan was so good because pep gave him that freedom, he took it back last season for control, but zinny and Phillips could just as easily do that job further back.
We are selling Zinchenko because he wants to go
There is no other reason he simply wants more game time
Which is fair enough

Which you could say tells you one of a couple of things. Otherwise, the club would have gone in and signed Cucurella no matter what, paid what it takes and got him in, when they did that with all the other targets.

Either the club aren't really in the market for a LB and are intereated in Cucurella or others down the list purely as a replacenent should Zinchenko leave.

Or Brighton are looking for too high a value, and the club are happy to be patient and stick with what they have, unless their arm is twisted by something like Zinchenko leaving.
Alternatively it’s already more or less done and Brighton are looking for a replacement

Alvarez?

It is kind of weird that Blackburn reported literally today that zinchenko might not leave. Like apparently he's already traveled to their training camp, idk what info he got but it's weird that someone who's briefed by the club would be so obviously wrong like that

Shit happens. It's certainly plausible that Zinny was indeed having second thoughts and Blackburn was told as much by a source of his.
