Manchester City ship

I'm sure @Gary James can provide a little background to this but here is the Manchester City ship parked up at Salford docks
The name of the ship is at the right handside of the vessel

In nautical terms that bit at the front (where the name is) is called the bow, or sometimes the prow.
That's what Captain Birdseye told me anyway !!
(10cc song The Dean and I -
"My ship came in with a cargo of dollars
My name's lit up on the prow" )
Here endeth the lesson !!

I always thought it was port, starboard, Forrid and aft?
Not sure how you spell forrid but that's how it is pernounced
