Very difficult with the width of his barnet, if that did not get you, the moustache would!Kenny Clements. Couldn't cross a ball even in the warm up but as a full back, no one got past him.

Great shout. Not alot of talk about Bellamy but I thought he was great with us.Neil MacNab, Imre Varidi, Craig Bellamy, Paul Walsh, Ian Brightwell
He connected the defence to the attack in an efficient, unflashy way. I could always spot a non-city fan who didn’t rate him as someone who didn’t really know football that well. Without looking at stats I bet our win rate was higher with him in the team.I was about to say the same thing..... that run at the end of the season of 2012 no matter what Hart did(and this isn't a dig at him) the second person with the ball always seemed to be Barry either as an outlet ball from the back four or NDJ or from a tackle if we had lost the ball and pretty much no one mentions him in that run in at all.
Any one mentioned Alan Harper yet?I’d put up a counter argument, but it’s inarguable, apparently.

totally although in fairness I think alot of what he did unless you are watching football live you wouldn't see he just provided that outlet and passed the ball on as you day nothing flashy just time and time againHe connected the defence to the attack in an efficient, unflashy way. Agree with neil young, every one1. Neil Young
2. Paul Power
3. Gareth Barry
Have to agree there mate. Met my brother down there and the last train was 8.30pm so he had to book a coach too as a contingency plan in case he missed the train. Thankfully he made the train but having to book two forms of transport and lose money on one is a disgrace quite frankly.
Steady on, you'll be citing John Macken next!

Of similar midfielders he did play against. Modric and Ericsson. He was better than both. He probably is still better than EricssonDavid Silva, I know we love him and we do not underrate him but the media in this country and other supporters did. I once had a raging argument with a Dipper as they were convinced that Coutinho was better... will leave that nugget there
Shocked anyone would say Bellamy was underrated he is a guy we signed for £14m was released on a free with the last year of his contract being cancelled. He was at very very best a costly signing(it works out he cost 350,000 per appearance for the club, or 1,000,000 per goal) ....Great shout. Not alot of talk about Bellamy but I thought he was great with us.
Solid, decent, hard working midfielder Nothing too flash, but a very important part of the side that 'came back from the abyss'.Kevin Horlock. Close thread.
Signed him from Standard liege ........ Added class to midfield and was crucial to our promotion,Johnny Crossan was one of my favourites.
The key match was during the 1965-66 promotion season. City were neck and neck with Huddersfield and they played at Maine Road on New Years Day. Crossan scored with a superb diving header that was captured throughout Fleet Street. Mike Doyle added a second.
That gave City the edge that they never lost. Huddersfield were eventually pushed back to 4th place behind City, Southampton, and Coventry.
He came from Sunderland actually. I remember him ripping City to shreds at Maine Road in a Red and White Strip a couple of seasons before.Signed him from Standard liege ........ Added class to midfield and was crucial to our promotion,
Yes You're right....for some reason the Standard liege connection stuck my mind.Probably because european signings were very rare in those days.He came from Sunderland actually. I remember him ripping City to shreds at Maine Road in a Red and White Strip a couple of seasons before.
Crossan certainly played for Standard Liège as well as Sparta Rotterdam before joining Sunderland. He had been frozen out of football in the UK by Derry City for wanting a move.Yes You're right....for some reason the Standard liege connection stuck my mind.Probably because european signings were very rare in those days.
Under rateably crap?Steve Kinsey
you have to be joking, he was completely overrated for me, never scored the goals, far too small and easily pushed off the ball.Steve Kinsey
