It is pointless looking at the price paid for individual players. It would be like owning a coffee shop and fixating on the price you paid for your grinder even though everything else you bought was under budget and customers are flowing through the door giving you a very tidy profit.

When you have bought three players of the quality of Grealish, Alvarez and Haaland for £166m, the price of the individuals are of no concern, unless you have bought them specifically to sell, which we haven't.
We got our grinder for nothing and it's still going strong 20 years later. So the grinder would be our Foden I guess :)
 
we do have a recent history of walking from deals if we don't like the value, and it feels from all the reports we just aren't going to pay 50. Selling Zinny before this was done, does feel like it weakens our hand somewhat
 


This tweet is probably wrongly quoted.

It is way off, the title is clickbait and with it is an attached clip which says there is still a matter of fee to be agreed with Brighton while personal terms have been agreed (quoting Fabrizio).
