Doubt there will be many left backs that are obtainable in January that aren't available this summer.
Always harder to buy in January.
 
There seems a lot of panic on here today, a reaction to losing yesterday contributing no doubt. If we had won yesterday I am sure the responses would have been more reasoned.

At the end of the day, I am sure that all football fans think they are lacking in their squads. I would still take ours over any others

Hard to tell now, there may be new stars in the WC for starters... Or new talents in the top European leagues. Or players with 1 year left on their contracts may be available at cut prices, etc. Many options there, trust in the club.

No i want to flap and moaning right now, far more easier than be patient and trust the club ;)
 
Losing yesterday might help Pep get Cuc. Cancelo gave Salah the freedom of Leicester yesterday. Not winning the CS highlights how much we need this position to be sorted. Hopefully the board have more impetus to get the deal done...
 
This deal seems dead now sadly. Personally gutted as I rate cucurella as one of the best lbs in the world think he would have been excellent (watch Brighton a lot as have family who are season ticket holders and go to a lot of their games).

If we go into potentially peps last season with 2 senior full backs then we are incredibly naive. Complained last season the squad was too small and had to throw the fa cup and lack of depth cost us in the champions league and nearly the league.

Now we seem happy to make the squad even smaller in a very condensed season. Don’t care what the happy clappers say we have handled this transfer very badly. We underestimated Brighton and clearly thought we could do what Barcelona are trying to with Bernardo. Hugely disappointing all round

With all due respect, you have typed utter codswallop.

In what way have we handled the transfer ‘very badly’ ? Do care to explain ?

We don’t value Cucurella at the price Brighton are prepared to sell him for and therefore have walked away from the deal (correctly in my opinion). If we paid 50 m for a full back that’s achieved nothing in the game and had one good season (even then only managed 1 assist all season for an attacking full back) we’d be a laughing stock in the market.

You sound like a spoilt child that can’t have another shiny new toy.

The business we have done in this window is incredible so far.
