Reckon? Business is business, these guys don't get to be so rich and successful if they let grudges get in the way. By all accounts Bloom and Benham hate each other after Benham left Blooms company and took loads of proprietary information with him and set up a competing company. Bloom never goes in the directors box at Brentford and always joins the fans in the away end. Didn't stop them selling Maupay to us though.

Didn't think McAtee and Delap were for sale, but if they were, and we offered the highest price, would City really say no because we didn't accept City's offer for Cucu? Seems far fetched.
I wasn't talking of selling but loaning young players, so not far fetched and in this instance Brighton are likely to be towards the back of the queue.

You obviously also have no background on City's owners. Napoli is a perfect example after the way they conducted business with Jorginho after agreeing a fee to come to City

Bang on this.

I've always wondered what FFP actually is now. They say it's spend what you earn, but you're watching Chelsea and Barcelona spending their debt loans, with the latter still owing players millions of pounds in salaries. It's absolutely crackers, it really is! How it is allowed that you can sell your revenue for the next 25 years and spend that money to load debt on top of huge debt (in Barcelona's case) is beyond me. No doubt they'll be on a fiddle over the next 25 years to somehow get their hands on the future revenue they've sold!

FFP was brought in to keep the Cartel clubs at the top, and prevent "State owned" clubs like City and Newcastle benefiting. Tebas has too much to say when City bring Haaland in, but when Barcelona are buying superstar after superstar whilst being in 2 billion worth of debt, and owing players 13m in wages - he keeps quiet. It's mind-boggling!
Fuck Tebas.

City aren't state owned

If Chelsea do end up getting Cucurella.
And Ben Chillwell being there already could one make a case for City going for Chilwell and putting a bid in?

Sure he was injured but a decent player for sure. Thoughts? And premier league ready.
Cucurella played the majority of the season playing on the left of a back three with Brighton.
He will be a good fit for Chelsea of they manage to sign him.

Koulibaly....Silva....Cucurella

With James and Chilwell playing as wing backs.

Oh OK. We don't do loans of young players, so not really a concern in this case..

If he isn't actually better than Chilwell, I don't think I'd want us to sign him anyway.

I mean Chilwell is good, but in terms of our system, Cancelo and Zinchenko suit it far better. (Obviously now one of thems gone...)

I rate Chilwell actually, as a good all-round left-back, and was thinking more of him in terms of Chelsea's system than ours.

Apparently Alonso might be leaving though - if so then that will open up some minutes for Cucurella as he'd really only be competing with Chilwell rather than both of them.

I'm not conviced about those as a 3. Either way though if they are still playing wing backs does that mean they have bought Sterling to play centrally ?

He can play one of the three centre backs Tuchel will play
He can, but he's bang average as an inside back. Why would anyone pay 52.5 mil for a LB/LWB to play as an LCB? I suppose that will be Chelsea's problem.

Think more to do they need defenders and Cucurlla is a very good player who now knows the premier league

It seems Cucurella to Chelsea is all but done bar the dotting of the i's & crossing of the t's.

I'd have loved Cucu to tell Brighton he's glad for them someone met their valuation, but he only wants City, but there's been nothing from the player or his camp to that effect so far.

Cucurella's probably surmised that he'd prefer City, but Chelsea wouldn't be a bad second choice either so he'd be OK with either club.

Personally I've moved on from the notion of Cucurella to City & am now focused on if we'll get a left back in time within this transfer window, & if so who?

Sosa's the name most seem to prefer as an alternative, so it'll be interesting to see if we act on that speculation or go through the season with 2 right backs & Aké & Wilson-Ebrand as other LB options as well as Cancelo. )(
Its like desperately wanting to marry your very beautiful long term girlfriend who you just know would be a perfect fit but it eventually not working out and you having to settle for some munter from Urmston, he could become very bitter and disillusioned.

I wonder if Chilwell Hasn't really got over his injury, hence the move for Cucurella, doesn't really make a lot of sense otherwise.

If Chilwell recovers sufficiently from his injury, every chance Cucurella will be the starting LB

Lol... :-)

However I think Cucurella's comparisons will be more like City/Brighton or Chelsea/Brighton. If it were a straight choice between City & the chavs, I reckon the Catalan/La Maisa connection would make the difference.

It's Brighton causing the constipation here leaving the player with the real choice of staying put or Chelsea. Putting it like that, there's not much competition...

Urmston munters are miles better than Stretford munters though. Unless they live near the sewage works as the constant smell makes their faces look like they’ve smelt a shit bomb.
