It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

but they are currently 150m euros over their allowed salary cap with what they have at the minute? they are demanding players take pay cuts to allow more players to be registered, would you accept that as a player? half your wages so they can give it to another player? Tebas is a **** but hes going to do barca no favours and if they dont get their wages down then they are in shit street with la liga and punishments will happen while paying kounde, lewa and many others not even playing as they cant be registered?
Makes you wonder what the fuck uefa are doing? They investigate us to fuck when we’ve done nothing wrong, yet these cunts can be in huge debt, sell off future gates receipts, not pay wages and not a fucking word from uefa. Yet some people still think football authorities aren’t bent

absolutely agree mate! something stinks to high heaven about all this and the amount of contractual breaches that could occur from barca over wages etc should be investigated when they happen. Selling off years of tv monies etc and not servicing their debt at all is sheer madness and its rumoured they owe messi 50m odd of unpaid money and pique is due a huge amount of money as well?

Football is bent but it is bent to the extent that Barca have broken no rules.

Penny for Chilwell's thoughts?

We tried to sign him previously and would not mind us chancing our arm.

I would even try a cheeky bid for Luke Shaw if it was lower than £20m. He is running down his deal.
Will love Chilwell. Was aching when Chelsea took him then, when we needed a LB.

I'll pass on Shaw, free or not. Mourinho criticized his footballing intelligence and tactical discipline, and based on his performances, I'm inclined to side with the eye gouger on that.

Good summary of where we are in terms of the squad good and bad

Based on some of the exchanges of opinions on here with TS, half expected that to be a bit happy-clappy all is gold, don't need no depth etc. However didn't really disagree with anything. Fair and balanced take on it. Loading it with so many kids is one heck of a stretch, for a meaningful contribution at least, but in fairness that's his thing that he follows and probably knows better than most of us. A bit conservative with the income, but I guess reflects where our priorities are as a fanbase.

3 weeks left, stil time to strengthen the area that needs it.

UEFA was started by the French…..so no fucking more ;)

Every year we fall short at the latter stages of champions league. One of the few reason is we do not have balanced squad. Its because of the genius of pep and tixi we are successful. We could be more.

If that’s the case we must be livid with Bloom. Suspect we will never attempt to do business with them again…
Bloom did nothing wrong. We bid and he didn't accept. Someone bid more than we were prepared to go.
If Barcelona bid 50m for Bernardo and we rejected and then Madrid came in and offered 90m and we sold him, barca wouldn't have any justification for being livid with city.

Bloom is a professional gambler by trade and fair play to him for the way he played his hand..

not sure what is the sale exodus for this summer if there are no more additions. dont even get me started on losing Bernardo potentially.
this is gonna be a long season and the schedule is much more busy until the WC than it would have been without WC. so I expect more injuries in the league for all teams really, especially the ones playing in CL/EL...

CL games for example are stretched between mid September and mid December but this season the 6 group games will be done between early September and end of October. there will be hardly any time for a breath between two games, will be almost a game every 3 days non stop until the break for WC. only break we will have is now in August between round 1 and 2 and 2 and 3 etc. even there we put in a friendly vs Barca later in August.

We must have sounded out what price was acceptable and then Brighton increased it.

Good for them, not so good for us.

This squad is going to be stretched thin like never before and that's before any injuries, suspensions.
No we didn’t say anything to Brighton only their player.

Brighton never even gave us a price. We just bid 30 35 and 40 and each time Brighton said no. Then Chelsea went in with 50 then 55 and Brighton said yes to the latter.
