Tommy the league is booming at the moment with a lot of talented kids playing man football can only be a good thing. The leagues team playing tonight 2 out of 3 won there European games. Not bad and there could be a chance that Rovers will be playing some sort of European competition and Pats in with a great chance too both teams leading there ties.

The league changed over the past 6 to 7 years with the focus now on youth development and giving young lads who come back from abroad another chance. Rovers are still in a tough situation, that side are good and were the better team in the second half, will be tough next Tuesday as it will be for Pats, but fantastic results for both teams and the league. LOI is on an upward spiral and its down to the clubs and 100% not the FAI or the government.

Tommy thats the thing we have some rich Irish men involved in clubs in the UK Dermot Desmond with Celtic , Darragh MacAnthony with Peterborough and in the past we had John Magnier involved with the rags too. Could you think what there money in a like of a Bohs or a Cork or whatever local team to them would of done. Yeah granted there playing for peanuts in the league of Ireland but wouldnt need to put in much to make these clubs competitive in the euro ties.

A little off topic but how has Jack Byrne been getting on? He was an academy player I had high hopes for to make it at the top level but last I heard he went back to Ireland with Rovers.

Desmond is involved with Rovers, owns 49% i think. The league has massive untapped potential, Rovers are leading the way with facilities and wages that are better than most league 1 teams and the vast majority of scots prem teams. Derry have a billionaire owner and there are ambitious plans across the country for stadiums across the country. The league has done a great job in attracting young supporters as well as women and familes and this is seen in the massive hikes in attendances recently, sold out signs are now common.

Out injured at the moment, hopefully back for the Europa league game next Tuesday. Came to Rovers three years ago after a few unsuccessful moves in England and Scotland. Had a really impressive first season both in league and in European run, got into the Ireland squad and attracted intetest from abroad. Eventually went to Cyprus and a club managed by Mick McCarthy, McCarthy though got sacked soon after and Jack was out of favour with new manager and so left. Had offers from elsewhere in Europe and USA but choose to come to Rovers again, seems to like playing at home and would be on a decent contract. He is a class act and a joy to watch, just unlucky with moves apart from Rovers of course.

Good to know, really hope he does well. If you're getting a decent wage and international call-ups then there's no real need to move away from home, even if he is too good for the league (not saying he is - idk).

How good can this Justin Ferizaj guy be do you think?
