Bernardo Silva

I think Raz wanted more money that we were offering. Whether that is down to KDB/Haaland is open to debate.

I think Gabby was more about playing time, but also because Arsenal we reportedly offering more than we were.

As you say, maybe because we didn’t want them to stay enough, or maybe because KDB was getting more than they were being offered.

Whenever the wage ceiling is increased, all players want more. Why wouldn’t they? It’s their job, after all. If you were offered £50k a week more at another company, you’d go 99% of the time.

Didn't really answer my question at all. But I agree with all of that. And have enough to draw my conclusion, ta.

Exactly. They can do and say what they want - and, mostly, it comes from newspapers or Twitter, not the clubs - but it is us and our relationships with our players that counts.
As much as I want a bit of media spin our approach seems the way forward (even at times it can seem a little weak)

Exactly, why we're so happy to help them out is a complete mystery. Txiki, Ferran, you work for Manchester City Fc and should want the best for us, stop being so nice to your former club who couldn't give two shits about us
To be fair we haven’t helped them out at all yet
We wouldn’t sell them Garcia even though he’s crap
We let Aguero leave and he chose Barca
We had their pants down on feran Torres fee

I woudn't say that even with the points lead at that stage but we were covered. Liverpool maniuplated a way back in the title hunt with them cancelling a few games through their (alleged) Covid cases

I was being flippant.

We got good money for a player looking to leave, no issues with that. It left us short though, imo, and in part, is why we went out of two further cups when needing goals, and getting to the final 15 minutes of the league.

Again we were covered at that time. If we sell Bernardo Silva we are not.

To anyone flapping about bernardo or anything else. Suggest you watch Peps presser in full and make your own mind up.

- Bernies not going anywhere
- Pep didnt say it but probably feels 1 short
- Clearly extremely relaxed and ready for the season

Ive no idea.....presumably the governing bodies

Khaldoon, Txixi - official club statements?
Why ? and what have barcelona actually said about Bernardo.I've only seen random barcelona fan sights on twitter saying some stuff which was just fantasy. We are well run and whatever we do either privately or publicly is for good reason and in the best interests of Manchester City in their opinion.

Reading the details on why Barcelona’s attempt to register their 7 players failed, it really begs the question why is Mendes not telling Bernardo to stay a mile clear of Barcelona and why the fuck does he want to go there?

Agents are basically similar to arms salesmen, all they want is their money. What you do with the player, that's up to you.

Barcelona is actually "more than a football club" like the saying goes. The club literally represents Catalunya, you can fall out with the board and the business side of things but in terms of working towards the betterment and the interest of the club (Club = Catalunya), the general believe is that every son of Catalonian descent has to contribute whichever way they can, that's why we can't really treat them the same way we would treat some other random club, like it or not we have ties to Barcelona.
All that “More Than A Club” shit is about the same level as “Scouse Not English” “This Means More” “The United Way” “The Geordie Nation”…

I bet Espanyol fans piss themselves at Barça’s lot.

For anyone who isn’t aware…

Barcelona claimed they had raised 667m from their “levers”.

When La Liga examined this, they discovered that when Barcelona sold their future TV rights to a company called Sixth Street, they actually formed a third company called Locksley, and Barcelona paid 150m to Locksley on top of the 517m from Sixth Street to buy the rights from Barcelona.

They paid a shell company 150m (which would be amortised over the 25 years) so that company could then pay them 150m more for their tv rights so it looked like they raised more money this year.

Now they are at least 150m short of registering 7 players.

Wow and we are the bad guys?

Because Mendes doesn’t give a shit about his players on the pitch.

All he cares about is the biggest payday for himself, and to a much lesser degree, his client.
