not rubbish by any stretch, but far below the inital hype, nametags, comparisons and general expectations of a Brazilian number 9, but Jesus.

You can point to most foreign signings over a 10 year period from when we were pushing to come back through the leagues. George Weah would probably be the standout name from my youth.

Disagree on Boateng - was pretty clear he was going to be a top player but we just didnt play him. Or where we did it was at LB when he always preferred CB. He went stale sat on the bench.

Its a classic case of buying one for the future only to danage their development by not doing anything with them.

I always thought Fowler got a bit of a bad rap and was actually pretty decent for us.

McManaman on the other hand was as useful as a chocolate teapot.

They were both crap, at least Fowler put in some effort but he was physically clearly very done, both stupid, expensive, unnecessary signings.
