It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

They do though. Jack, Simon etc have reported after speaking to the club , as their articles say. We dont discuss our transfer strategy in media but we can confirm/deny a news
They're all blaggers... Every football writer, pundit, expert, the lot. They rely on information starvation; fans desperately waiting for any news on transfers who are ready to bite at any titbit of news. 99% of their 'news' is second/ third hand rumour, and the other 1% is bullshit put around by agents etc

It's all bollocks until it's announced by the club.

I would take into account the environments that those players walked into. I would have zero worries about a player from any league if Pep is the one bringing them in.
Trust pep and the board 110% to be honest I thought alvarez would take abit of time to settle but he has been a fantastic fit and and has taken go being here like a fish to water. But I think looking a word beater in Italy doesn't mean much coming to the Premier league.

Realistically, if there were any player we could sign, to fit within our structure as a wide forward ( Next Season ), who would it be?

I would love Musiala, but Bayern would never sell, so I'm still on Leao.

If we get a better left back, Gomez goes on loan . We ain't getting two left back for us

Most likely. But not entirely unthinkable either.

Personally if Gomez does come in, I'd rather see another RB than a second LB, but either would give us plenty of cover with Cancelo doing more on the right.

Probably Nkunku. Even got a release clause.

A couple of quotes from 2018 letter to us, from Sheikh Mansour, still relevant today, I think, and worth keeping in mind. I know some of us don't think they always think of the fans, but you can't deny that the spirit of this still rings true.

'Khaldoon and I know that we will not get everything right all the time. As we continue on this journey I would ask you to please always bear with us and please be assured that, even when we stumble, we will try to remain true to our values and to make you proud of what we do and how we do it on your behalf.

Over the last ten years I have learned a lot more about what it is to be a City fan. I understood quickly why 40 points is important - and why inflatable bananas (and now sharks!) still make an appearance. And whilst I don’t have a Lamborghini, I was very tempted to get one a few years ago. It has been a most enjoyable education for me.

That said, what I have always known is that players and management will come and go from our Club, but you the fans are permanent. I will not forget that. I hope you have enjoyed these last ten years and I promise the next ten will be no less exciting.'

So Bernie may go... Pep may go... but the ride will go on.

Interesting that there was a serious amount of noise around Cucurella but there is close to zero indication who our senior LB targets are..

Palmer is Mahrez's competition (or vice versa).

We need a long term replacement imo for Gungogan/KDB/Bernardo. Someone with a mix of high tempo, ball retention and killer passes.

I've no idea why but I would prefer someone incoming with that in mind than a LB. (Unless it's someone seriously phenomenal)
