City football shirts everywhere

Been in Skipton all day. Plenty of Leeds. No dippers. Couple of Rangers. Two proper scruffy looking herberts one in the invisible grey rag shirt and another one with last seasons complete with PR37 on the back.
Didn’t see a single City shirt all day!

The big change in my part of Lancashire (Wyre) has been the vanishing of Rags shirts. It seems to be mostly Liverpool with an increasing number of City shirts, especially the youngsters. There are also quite a few PNE and Blackpool shirts (both these clubs have loyal hard-core supports).
The signing of Haaland is a game-changer for City. He is the biggest box-office star we have ever signed and already has a huge personal fanbase across the world which will only get bigger. Grealish and Foden are also very commercially valuable to City and will be even more important if England do well at the World Cup.
I’m not a million miles from you & agree with all that, spent many a game in locals where they’re full of red shirts, but as you say the rags are disappearing by the day, you very rarely see kids in their rag clobber, it’s more the 30–40 somethings who are stuck with em, already seen a few with their collars up to hide their embarrassment

We’ve just been on a long trip, through France and Spain, and saw City tops in all sorts of towns and villages. I reckon the only teams we saw more of were PSG, Real / Barca and maybe dippers.

To be fair mate, I'm not from Manchester, i am a ST holder, I grew up in Shropshire, but my dads from heaton moor. He took me to games and got me into city. I dont have a manc accent so have been questioned about the subject alot since we got bought in 2008, no one cared before then who I supported. So where does this leave me? Should i of stopped supporting city in 2008? You tell me.
I'm in exactly the same boat as you StrutterBlue...I'm born and bred in the West Midlands, my dad, mum, uncles, grandparents were all from Manchester and were all blues.... I was even named after two City legends. My first game was in 1978 and I'm a ST holder. I have travelled from the Midlands for years to watch City. I've now decided that I'll turn it on its head and wind the detractors up a bit...Whenever I get "when did you jump on the bandwagon?" or sneered at for being a non manc and a glory hunter I reply with "I've been a City fan for the last ten years or so but before that I followed Chelsea and United in the 90s and 00s and followed Liverpool in the 80s....I like to watch a winning team, dont you?" The reaction I get from them is incredulous. I Once gave this answer to someone in the pub who had the cheek to ask about my credentials shouted to his rag mate (who was from Staffordshire BTW) said "can you believe this...he used to follow united, now he follows City!"....the rag just shook his head to disapprove of someone being a glory hunter.....oh the irony. Only the other week I got short shrift off a Villa supporter for being a glory hunter...I didn't say anything to him because I can't be arsed to justify why I support City, but a mutual friend who I've known for years put him right on the subject and he completely changed attitude after that.
I really shouldn't have to justify why I support the Blues to strangers, I know what my City supporting credentials are and as the late great Bobby Ball would say...that'll do for me cocker!
