The Boxing thread

Class? Lmfao what fight did u watch because it wasn't the 1 I just did.

He was better than last time but far from class.

Unreal isn’t it haha, he’s been mildly better tonight than the first, yet ruined that by making some strange speech about how he can’t last 12 rounds and stealing Usyks limelight about a more serious issue.

Fury would make mince meat of AJ, prick.

Yeah, it's super cringey reading some of these comments!

They'd run a mile from Joshua rather than say it to him, nevermind get in a ring for a 30 sec sparring!

Haha!
So we can't comment on Joshua because he would beat us in a fight?

Joshua fanboys out in force tonight! He got schooled TWICE by the master technician. He was "slightly" better than the first fight...Still completely outclassed.
Talk of him fighting Wilder next...Wilder puts him to sleep within 6 rounds. Or am I allowed say that?

Funny how it's always the ones who've never laced the gloves up who always have something to say about professional boxers.

2 elite level Olympic gold medallists. If you can criticise either of these men, make sure you've achieved 1% of what they have in life.
I didn't see the fight myself so can't really comment, got home during the 8th round n tried a dodgy stream, stream was lagging so fucked it off for the good old trusted radio.

2 heavyweights lasting the full 12 n going home to their loved ones in one piece afterwards is a win win for all involved.

Felicitations to the victor n well done but unlucky to the challenger.

I think Joshua's stock went up this evening despite him losing. I'd still like any combination of the following fighters to have a fight.

Fury
Usyk
Joshua
Wilder

Obviously. You wouldn't last four minutes on the pitch with Premier League footballers. But you still talk about them. And that is absolutely fine.

There's a real tangible difference to calling someone 'not good enough' to calling them a 'shithouse'.

There are some real fat fuckers/ shitty people in real life on here making crappy comments.

That's my issue.

As I've said, it depends on the type of commentary issued out. Joshua is, clearly, not 'shit'.

As I've said in the thread, this fight came too early for him with his switch of trainer. He still has potential, but has to commit and undo the plodding foot planting style he's learned over the last 10 years. He moved his head more than I've ever seen him do before and had a hugely improved gas tank.

His issue is the waiting on pulling the trigger which saps the tank for him. He has to address that.

He has the tools, it's just down to his learning curve now.

That's a critique and fair.

Only if you’re prepared to fight Wilder!
Haha.

This is an odd take to have on a boxing thread on a football forum populated by City fans.

If only this whole forum was about being a Manchester City fan commenting on being a Manchester City fan on a forum. What a delightful level playing field we'd all be on.

What a petulant twat Joshua is. Completely classless after being outclassed. it's no wonder he doesn't even have the backing of his countrymen when that's the representation he provides. Guy spent longer on the mic with his rant than he did throwing punches tonight.

He took multiple or even countless hits to the head from an excellent Usyk.

If you did would you be thinking straight?

He’s 32 nearing 33. He isn’t a novice and the two fighters clearly superior will be retiring in the next few years.
