Piers Morgan - owned

God these guys are opinionated! It's hard for me to pick a side. Twitter feed this, As I said in the book that, woke, etc. Who won?
 
Morgan is a tosser and always has been but the other guy’s tactic seemed to be moving the goalposts and trying to get Morgan to remember names of everyone involved in every issue and if he didn’t it didn’t happen or doesn’t matter.

I viewed this differently.

Morgan’s argument stemmed from the position that cancel culture is a huge issue. Whereas O’Brien’s was the opposite. The onus is surely on Morgan to prove his case.

The fact he was happy to state how loads of people have been cancelled but then couldn’t name any shows a huge flaw in his argument.

He couldn’t name one in any area, barring the mystery novelist.

Morgan didn’t begin by talking about cancel culture specifically, he was talking about “woke” people and the Proms thing was just an example of that, which also could be described as cancel culture but that wasn’t the main point they were discussing.

That O’Brien guy did actually agree with Morgan on the trans/gender stuff but he didn’t on race, religion, sexuality etc.

“Set to happen” = was never going to happen, but allows shock jocks to rant and rage, before “common sense prevails”.

This happens quite a lot with these kind of stories. Thank goodness the shock jocks are there to stop things happening.

Well if it was scheduled to have not been part of the Proms until the backlash then it would have happened without the backlash.

I don’t watch it so wouldn’t have made much difference to me but it does mean it was a legitimate point.

The Guardian, shock, was running a story just before it about how Land of Hope and Glory and Rule Britannia are rooted in racism and slavery and should be dropped or had the name changed.

From my view there’s two minority groups on either side stirring this, on left and right. The left side writes crap like the above and the right pretends it’s a bigger issue than the other more serious issues like Covid (at the time) or the cost of living crisis now.

You seem to be agitated.

I’ve not ignored what you’ve said and I even agreed some of this “woke” stuff is being blown out of proportion.

Claiming it doesn’t actually exist at all though is disingenuous, even JK Rowling is being banned from Harry Potter events for saying biological sex matters.
