Piers Morgan - owned

I tried to have a grown up conversation but you’re clearly looking for an out now I’m giving you real examples.

Enjoy the long weekend.
No you didn’t. You may have thought you were, but you were just reiterating tired tropes that don’t need debating anymore.

Name a tired old trope I reiterated?

I know why you don’t want to debate it, because the example I gave about JK Rowling is pretty clear cut and despite refusing to admit it, you know there is a new woke culture.

Trans issues are the only real ones that are unsolvable, the rest is made up stuff to give shock jocks things to be outraged about.

It was all in the clip that you couldn’t be arsed to watch.

I actually saw that bit, I got tired listening to two tossers shouting over each other and the cricket is on.

The trans issue is the main one that’s creating conflict but there’s also a bit of ridiculousness about racial identity and feminism.

Although I think the latter is more noise and a bit of over-representation, to over-correct, than anything life changing for anyone.

Cool.

Moron being caught out being what he is. A gobby grifter who uses his "journalism" to make money using the lowest common denominators and the gullible.

No wonder him and Trump like each other. Both built careers on bullshitting the public.

Whatever I say, you’ll ignore as you’ve preformed your opinions, negating the need to watch the second half of the interview etc.

Cancel culture is a faux thing on Twitter. It doesn’t happen in real life.

With respect I have to disagree. I myself was a victim of 'cancel culture' and not on twitter. I used to be on a footballing website called 'Red Cafe' and I said Sir Alex Ferguson was essentially to blame for the mess they are in right now.

The next time I tried to login, I'd been cancelled.

I still look at it for a laugh though, recently a City fan introduced themselves on there and started a thread about the clubs American owners. They asked most reasonably and even stated it was not to gloat or wind up: why all the moaning (about the Glazers) when in this window it looks like upwards of €200m will be spent? Later the same day and after 9 responses a little padlock appeared and a message: "Not open for further replies." I don't know if the Citizen was banned - but his discussion topic certainly was.

Get yourself on Piers TV. He’ll fight your cause.

Find out where in Ireland the board’s owner lives and chain yourself to his gatepost.

I’d normally listen to O’Brien and even though I may not agree with him I do see where he’s coming from.

As the lying fucker Morgan is on there I can’t be tempted on this one, I’d only end up having to buy a new tablet.

I watched the Youtube in the OP and I was surprised how badly Piers Morgan did. I'm not a fan of his by-the-way, but I have read his book as I saw it at a car boot sale and I got it for my Dad who likes TalkTV! and I had a flick through it one afternoon. It is essentially a diary of the pandemic times with lots of anti-Meghan Markle stuff thrown in.

What surprised me was how unprepared Morgan was, you can't be like that if you go up against James O'Brien who makes a living by arguing this stuff, day in, day out. Why could he not name 3 people who have been cancelled and not on trans issues? Lack of h/w definitely. Here is a small list:

Writer/Political Commentator Calvin Robinson
Historian David Starkey - to be fair he said something really stupid, but to destroy a man for it, what happened to 'freedom of speech'? See:

Basil Fawlty/John Cleese!

I'd also include myself, but obviously Piers Morgan won't know about me.

I used to be on a forum - a discussion group linked to my profession (which I would rather not name) it has sections related to the job, but also politics and football. About 6 weeks ago somebody started a chat about a BBC commentators remarks relating to the lack of diversity amongst the England Woman's football team. I added my opinion - which was I thought it was 'virtue signalling' and an ill advised remark & that it was unfair on the ladies that had played that night (it was at half-time during the England v Norway 8-0 match).

I don't know if this was discussed in here - I didn't get involved if it was. But anyway, when I next tried to access the job site/forum my username and password was not to be found. I'd been cancelled - no warning or opportunity to clarify my remarks. So it does happen and not just on twitter, nor only on the issue of trans rights.

Being booted off a forum isn’t being cancelled. It’s down to their T and Cs.

It's very easy to tell whether cancel culture exists. The people moaning about it in the public eye usually have a book or other product they are plugging.
Oh yes.
Take Gergvais jumping on the 'controversial' trans issues (new Netflix show huh?)

Never heard of Calvin Robinson and after a quick Google search it looks like stories of his cancellation are somewhat premature. He does seem like a complete prick though.
David Starkey is a racist arsehole and it’s not a huge surprise that most media organisations won’t touch him with a barge pole.
And if John Cleese has been cancelled no one seems to have told him. He’s seems just as busy as ever complaining to lots of media organisations that he’s been cancelled and they’ve all reported everything he said.
