There was something I caught on I think Radio 5 at the weekend where this spurs fan was pushing that every London team looks for their game first and it is the biggest match Chelsea, Arse, Fulham, West Ham & Brentford play all season...and he was being serious.

Oh how I want City to beat them, smash them, put five or six or seven past them, humiliate them. For 1981, for the CL semi-final, for being Tottingham. Then i'd like that last train out of Manchester back to Euston, packed with Spurs fans, to break down somewhere south of Macclesfield and be stuck overnight without any power on board and the toilets clogged.

In Akanji we have a CH who can match Son for pace. Be interesting for sure but this may enable us to match their counter better than we have previously. Do that and match Kane up in midfield and we can control them. Letting Kane have the freedom of the centre circle and beyond is a recipe for another loss against these one trick pony, counter attack johnnies.
 
We'll have a better idea of how good Akanji and Gomez are against spurs, with Kane and Son running at them, that's if they're playing

Kane is the only one to create and provide, cut that out and you have total dominance.
The back 5 of Spurs is then put under constant pressure.
Last year Kane at the Etihad was superb, his positioning and movement created havoc when Spurs managed to break the press.

The old fashioned man marking ..follow him to the toilets if you have to Phillipd. ...that should be the command when playing Kane
