Iconic photo. Her and Roy Paul there. And coming up the steps to the royal box is Bert, whose meeting with her that day

Agreed. I am a republican but it's sad. Personal grief transcends opinion on institution.I’m no royalist but feel sad the image that sticks with me is a heartbroken wife who had to sit on her own away from her family when her husband died, that brought home to me she’s the Queen but today she’s a grieving wife like lots of others when co vid was rife. Rip
The Queen is dead...long live the King.
Charlie despises himA lickspittle. Never liked the sycophantic twat.
Yes we have.New money being minted as we type … the world turns but we’ve lost a great great woman
Fair play Bimbo and well said shame Sebastian blue can't give it a rest.New money definitely. New stamps definitely. New anthem? Just a change of wording.
R.I.P
Whilst I don't agree with the notion of the royal family I do understand the importance of what has happened. She has devoted her life to this country with dignity. Sure the older generation will feel this more, my missus is in bits, but to give your life up, like Phillip did, to serve a country for 70 years demands respect from all people.
I'm off to raise a glass.
