A bit disappointing but I’m not too bothered. This season is already ruined by the World Cup, what’s another two weeks on top of the six that was taking up? For the last few years I’ve just been loookg forward to getting this season out of the way.

There are no Euros, Copa America, ACON next Summer so we’ll be fine to fit the season in.

And then with no more Covid disruptions, mid-season World Cups, no more disruptions from next season onwards and life [and football] really can get back to normal.

My plans for tomorrow are completely fucked! I've got two Spurs cousins who just called to tell me. They took the day off work & were literally leaving for Manchester, staying at mine & we were all going to the match tomorrow (albeit they're in the away end).

So what's everyone expected to do all weekend? Sit & watch Nicholas Witchell's morose fuckin face for hours on end? Mountain Bike, Netflix & Disney+ here I come! :-|

Have to agree - it went over the top with Diana and the exact same thing happening here. The vast majority will be pissed of to some extent by something getting cancelled over the next 2 weeks. Some people will be significantly impacted with money paid out on stuff they wont ever see again. Lots of small businesses will suffer.

You wouldn't make it better by getting rid of the royal family. You're deluded if you think so. They cost the country fuck all, in fact they generate far more income for the country than they cost. And the Queen in particular has been a steadying, moderating influence for good. Things would be worse had we not had our Queen. Sad you cannot see that through your resentment and bitterness.

More seriously, I don't think they should have cancelled the games, and I feel bad for people inconvenienced. But it is what it is. As someone else said, this is a pretty seismic event in UK history and you cannot reasonably expect everything to just carry on as if nothing has happened.

I think most would have grudgingly accepted the postponements if it had been Operation London Bridge‘s protocol.

It isn’t. It’s a committee of people scared to death of the possible criticism if games had gone ahead.

Well if he used his fucking eyes and brain he’d realise the only “establishment” that has cancelled football is the Premier League and FA.

The King and Government haven’t ordered anything shut and the government have said it’s up to individuals to decide how they mourn.
