Yep. Mentions Maradonna, arguably the best ever player, who played 38 games for Barcelona but is mostly associated with Napoli of course. Not quite sure what he’s trying to prove with that example. The guy wasn’t even born when he played there, his history only goes back to the early nineties at best hence why he named those particular clubs. He just isn’t old enough to know it changes, otherwise he might have added Ajax, Benfica or Anderlecht.

Ignorant git.
Could help myself to mention his boy Harry Kane and mentions John Terry as playing for one of the biggest club (Chelsea wasn't mention as one of the big clubs in his statement). Guy has no idea and still thinks that Real are best option yet he still choose to come here the mind boggles with his stupid logic

I shouldn't really bother with what that fool says really but I just have to point out his stupidity and just laugh thinking he knows better

Lastly to say that Sergio isn't a legend of the game is just plain wrong. People and fans rated him and remember him and not Jamie.
And by the way he played for Barcelona too so why isn't he a legend according to his dumb logic.

Stupid little man

This is mostly quite nice, I don’t have a problem with them picking up on Alfie’s comments either really, he did say them.
I especially liked this sentence...

"You’d never catch us just writing the same piece over and over and over again and expecting people to continue enjoying it."

I assume this stance doesn't apply to their (the media in general) Sportswashing/Oil money/human rights abuse/dodgy sponsorship deals/FFP cheats/etc/etc/etc articles (?)

They're nobodies.

Their views are not being echoed by the main football pundits.

They have no influence at all other than pissing City fans off and it's City fans giving them oxygen by sharing and clicking on their articles.

I disagree.

The mainstream football pundits don't echo it coz they're corporate. Gulf investment is huge in so many areas so the establishment won't run with it, besides, if we get into questions of "ethical" ownership that's a can of worms the shady fuckers who own the media don't want opened.

But.

You're naive if you think it hasn't got traction, it's not just the Guardian than runs with this shit, but then you'll never know who's saying what coz your solution is ignore it.

We need to know what's being said in order to shoot it down whenever it raises its head.

‘Twas ever thus. Look at all the bang average rags who’ve played for England ….. Cleverly, Welbeck, Wes Brown, Phil Neville, Kieran Richardson, Smalling etc etc

Most of them were barely adequate top flight players, the kind of guys who might just about get a regular game for a team fighting relegation yet they were elevated way above the status their ability deserved by the Utd bias endemic in the English game
You forgot the star…..Mike Duxbury!

Carragher on Sky "Hes not a city player, hes a player for all the premier league." have you ever heard such utter bollocks

He is stating the truth, that Erling is possibly the best player on the planet and plays for City, the champions of England, not Real Madrid, Munich Rags, Oceanfinancelona, or PSG. Imagine if we sign Mpabbe and Bellingham next season!

If he continues the current trajectory then he may become the biggest tourist attraction in England.
No Mbappe thanks, a team has no I in it.

I’m starting to worry now about the press/media they seem to be changing tack and writing or talking positive about City mostly, probably because they know it’s the only way to see pep leave, the constant negatives in my opinion was only making him more determined to shut them up ..

It's better to focus on how good we are than how bad Liverpool are. Next season when the inhalers are recharged they'll come at us again and we'll be back to normal.

It was tongue in cheek.

Deano
You May be right about the angle on Pep but I also think that headlines get clicks. Everyone wants to read about Haaland. The press tried to diminish his early contributions with the ridiculous stories on number of touches. Now, through gritted teeth they have to accept that he will get clicks even though he plays for the dirty oil cheats. Just wait, if we sign Bellingham they are truly goosed.
