Etihad Atmosphere - 2022/23

It's mainly the acoustics in SS3 that make their songs spread around the stadium. The big mistake City fans groups have made is persisting on the bottom tiers.

We don’t have a choice mate. The club makes the decisions where the singing section will be, not the fans. Before the standing and singing section was made official, it was unofficial, but the club allowed it, and to an extent turned a blind eye to it.

The club would never have a singing section in SSL3.

Our one and only hope for a genuine singing section is when the NS is expanded. And even then the club will have the final say where it will be and in what form it takes. I just hope the club works with the fans to create a proper and genuine singing section. As it is, 115 isn’t a proper singing section. There are lots of City Fans in 114, 115 and 116 who don’t sing and have no interest in singing. Some complain about the displays. And some are rude and aggressive towards the 1894 lads, and to other City fans who help out with the displays. If we had a proper singing section full of fans who wanted to help with the displays, do the displays, and sing, that wouldn’t happen.

Displays aren’t atmosphere. Communal noise and singing around the stadium is atmosphere. If a few hundred vociferous fans decided to relocate to the top of the south stand it wouldn’t matter what the club thought. That would seed the whole thing.

Wherever the singing section is needs to be the cheapest area in the stadium. I used to be in 115 but couldn't justify the rising cost so moved up into the third tier. Loads must have done the same.

Displays don't create an atmosphere, but they aid and add to the atmosphere. That was evident in SSL1 before the start of the United match when all the flags, 2 sticks, and front and SL2 banners were out.

We can't get everyone together in SL1 because all the season tickets are sold out, never mind relocating to SL3. We'll only get all the singers together when the NS is expanded, and if the club work with the fans to create a genuine singing section in L1, L2 or L3 of the expanded NS.

I know the difficulties you've had fella. The club are the ones who missed the trick when they opened the new upper tier. Anyway, things are taking care of themselves now and things are a lot better.

Too late I suspect. The singing areas are entrenched on the other side of the ground. If 100-200’active singers moved up to the top of the south stand that would be enough I’m sure and others will follow.

The time to do it was when it opened.
We moved into ss3 when it first opened, and it was boisterous and loud at times the first season.
Its dwindled off though , but a definate pick up this season, lets hope it gets better and better

We have loads of singer's in the 3rd tier but we are up here for a reason, the price is affordable, if they make NS a similar price and a huge singing section I'm sure loads of us would move
This is a good comment about the price. I am in CB 3 and like it up there but I can, at present afford it. If as many say the singers are in the main young folk they are the generation less likely to have finances at present as they are getting hammered at seemingly every level. If the club wants a big singing section they need to be given prices they can afford. I join in songs and shout but there aren't many of us up there.

That's the only way they could do it. Market it as "The New Kippax" and offer dirt cheap tickets first to the people in the singing areas. Maybe a half price season ticket or something. And let 1894 have first dibs on a block at the back. I suspect the erection of safe standing barriers has kiboshed that idea though.

I'm a noisy **** but moved out of 109 to level 3 Kippax on value gold.

If they made huge sections as affordable as that it would be brilliant....level 3 near me is a library mostly.

I'd move back in a flash

SSL3 seems a good choice then. I upgraded this year to lower down the stand but was previously at the back and my season ticket was £330, similar to value gold

Wish I'd had a choice of where to go.......

I was on value gold myself and had a few decent tickets but often up in the gods in east level 3 etc. Once SSL3 opened and it was a similar price, swapped to a standard season ticket, one of the better decisions i made. Worth considering for next year.

I'm sure when I looked there were no SSL3 available......can't remember then just went Value gold last minute
