He stated that after finding the skull he sent soil to be independently analysed. This showed human dna so he informed the police. They state no dna has been found.
Is that what you are asking ?
 
This is all a bit weird.
You investigate a possible grave site. Spends months and years doing so.
Finally find some evidence but cover it back up. Send off soil samples.
The results suggest human DNA or similar.

So you contact the police with the details.
They decide to act on the information.

Now this is the strange bit. Surely you would personally take them to the dig site?
How hard would it be to show them exactly were you dug. There is no way you just randomly dug.
Even if there was several dig sites and you somehow got confused, you would still personally return with the police.

The most worrying bit is the Police had no choice but to take him seriously.
They may have suspected he wasn't credible.
But imagine the media shit show if they refused to follow up his information and later on it turned out to be correct.

He may have wasted Police time and raised peoples hopes just for self promotion.
Either way, he won't be charged.

It was in one of the papers, he’s a Birkenhead lad. All I will say is if he has convinced himself that his Ripper theory is sound, I’d be careful with what he has said here too.

This is a good point about the ripper stories, it's impossible to say who did it, also his theories are not new and this so-called DNA from a shawl was used on a guy from the USA that he thought his great, great granddad H.H.Holmes was the real jack the ripper, the“American Ripper,” dates all match up from his time over here in the UK with the murders, also they all stopped around the time when he went back to the USA

Russell Edwards should not have gone public with this before the police and family were informed and told it was 100%, if this all becomes bollocks then it's a dirty trick and for publicity, then he should be made to pay for wasting
the police time and money

Keith was one of my best pals at school.We both went to Mansfield Street Primary in C-on-M and I saw him a couple of days before he disappeared.I still think about him often and hope this is the event that brings some closure.

My other half went to Mansfield St and then Medlock sec. he lived on Kirkstall St,

Sounds well dodgy, he could have used what 3 words to get an accurate grid reference or just GPS coordinates. Why would you find a spot of such significants and not mark it?

I drove past Dovestones reservoir last night and forensic were on the moors under lights. Part of the road has temporary traffic lights and barriered off. They are doing their best to find the remains of poor Keith. I hope they find him for his family's sake. Not finding him sent him mother Winnie to an early grave. RIP
