Something’s changed

I got chatting to a bloke behind me last.night, his accent sounded scouse, asked him and he was ,a liverpool fan too,he was there with 4 kids, all City fans.He wasn't happy them being blues, but still paid and brought them all,he came to the dortmund game too, fair play to him.
Blimey the things we do for our kids.
Imagine any of us taking the kids to watch Liverpool...

I can't even contemplate that!

probably because it’s the first time a true global superstar has come to the premier league, which is pretty surprising in itself. I’m not talking world class players, I mean ones that seem to transcend the sport like he is at the moment. Players that you can count on one hand in an era or generation.

Ronaldo is of course but not when he joined at a young age.

Henry wasn’t when he joined, in fact, was he a global superstar ever? He’s obviously one of the premier league greats and brilliant player but I’m talking everyone in the world talking about them, that level of stardom, I don’t think he was ever that, he wasn’t really held up like a global superstar like Ronaldinho was in the same era.

I’d say it’s a first for the premier league as a whole, this kind of hysteria around a player with eyes watching all the time. Doesn’t matter where people rank him or how long he has been here, I’m just talking about the sheer hysteria right now.

Spoke to a group of German lads who wanted to see him in person again. And a young Manc lad of about five who was at first game was next to me. He'd picked City and dragged his Granddad along, what a future he has.
Here in Spain we are having concreting, tiling and gate work being done.
The Spaniards are in awe of his physical presence and goal scoring especially against United. However they are now much more fearful of City as CL opponents. Just one lad originally from Gambia who now claims to be a City fan although he confuses City with United so after the 6 - 3 result I think he changed his allegiance.
Times are changing abroad as well.

Don't know why we're bothered, apparently he'll be at Madrid in a couple of years......

He only came because he knows his car will still be there where he left it.

As I’ve mentioned elsewhere, was in Turkey shortly after his signing, thought I’d treat myself to a snide City shirt, I was expecting quite a few ‘Gündoğan‘s’ there and being worn by locals, but no, it was all Haaland.
It was obvious he was popular before that, but never realised just how much worldwide, as someone mentioned earlier, he’s the next ‘Messi’ and ‘Ronaldo’ along with Mbappe, the next global superstars.

Tbh, all things considered, I’m quite expectant he will move on in 3-5 years, (but hopefully he realises things are never going to be better than here) I’m relatively happy with that, 3-5 years of this utter sensation is amazing just in itself.
Five years would be incredible. Then, off to La Liga, to complete the set

What we have bought here is a Global phenomenon. He was already a superstar but he's going to absolutely explode from this point.

All that money in Asia, middle East. Sponsorship money etc will be diverted away from teams like United etc because all they will want to see is Haaland. His personality, size, ability brings overwhelming excitement. Kids love him, adults love him, his team love him. He's in everyone's FF team.

He's very confident but very humble too. We are going to have to get that other stand upgraded and fast lol

I obviously don't want him to stop scoring, but...if he goes on a six game drought, we will be on our own again!

The fact that he isn't yet running 30 yards, beating three defenders and sticking it in the top corner, and people are still amazed by him, means there are more accolade's to come, for him.

Also, on the first superstar in the PL thing, most superstars like to play in a 1 or 2 horse league, with plenty of rest between games and Xmas off! I am not denying they are hugely talented players but I'd like to see them do it at .......(insert name) on a wet and windy Wednesday night, but it does occur to me that maybe they have it right and I'm wrong. Have an easy life, break records, be fit and rested for the big games and win the ballon dor!

When our legend Aguero left I didn't think we could ever replace him. but i was very wrong. Haaland is magical. never seen anything like him before. i sometimes pinch myself in the ground. this is truly incredible

What a year to spend a few months in hospital in, trying to remember if I broke any mirrors recently.
A few months? Jeez what has happened. Anyway get well soon.

We sold all Octobers matches including the derby on the ticket exchange as my wife was having an op. They postponed it at short notice.....

I touted Haaland as the man we should sign. Get him and we win everything. The guy is world class as are the players around him. Next level this guy. So glad we didn’t get Kane

In 20 years time the then FOC's will be defending Aguero against the claims that the new and improved striker is much better than he was.
