Some thoughts…

I don’t understand how you can ask players to do new things at the height of competition. There’s a time and place; Anfield isn’t one of them.

ie: Gundo was dreadful because he was asked to do things he’s not got in the locker.

Absolutely bizarre we don’t give Jack a look. We missed his progressiveness and retention. Foden on the LHS is frustrating as hell because he has EVERYTHING but the final product. Feels like on the right he’s afforded more space to drift into the box as well. Missed that today.

Bernardo was woeful. He’s got a great work rate but on the ball he was fucking jarring. Made the wrong decisions all day and the final ball was poor. I get why he’s starting, but he clearly wasn’t on it early. Would’ve liked to see Palmer on for him and KDB back to the midfield.

Lastly, I’m not entirely sure why we relegated KDB to being a touch line winger. You want your best players on the ball. He was basically sat out there doing fuck all unless we had a counter.

Pep was miles off it today and still, don’t think we played that bad. It was in reach.

Personally I thought Guardiola's approach was utterly fucking spineless. That shoehorning of four central midfielders never fucking works and he gave Liverpool a massive leg up.

Foden was against a 37 year old fullback yet was never instructed to run at him. It's on Pep for me. He showed a depleted team far too much respect. Again.

Notwithstanding all that, the disallowed goal is absolute bollocks. I'd wager any amount of money that if Liverpool score that goal it stands.

But still, Pep has fucked in a similar vain to Porto for me. That XI and setup was totally wrong.

Very disappointing, we never looked up for it, gave far too much respect.

We have always apart from a far few exceptions had mentality issues when we play at anfield, and clearly yesterday was no exception.

Pep and team selection has me wondering sometimes, I am no lover of Grealish but his recent much improved form has been rewarded with the bench, I don't understand why that is.

The dippers had an old, makeshift RB in Milner, yet we never once put him under pressure, that's just plain wrong.

We could have ended the dippers season yesterday, alas we have given them a glimmer of hope, very disappointing.

Let's hope we don't become flat track bullies.

We played well. Liverpool has a lot of quality players. Haaland should have finished off one of his chances, but that’s how football works some times. Salah very Likely had a handball that got overlooked. I am confident that we will be top at the end of the season and I’m also confident that Liverpool will be top four, and probably top three.

Frustrating for me to see Ederson lead with his feet with a one on one, typical modern keepers I suppose.
Bert would have dived in head first !!

Ederson on a one on one is one if not the best goalkeeper in the world, his bravery should never be questioned.

We usually lose this fixture, so this isn't surprising and won't affect the table come the end of the season. According to MEN, we've only won once at Anfield in twenty one seasons, and that was during covid when fans were banned.

Let's put this behind us and concentrate on the upcoming games

And there’s me thinking Var looks at every goal. It definitely looks like it hits his hand. Oh well swings and roundabouts I suppose. It just hurts a little more when it’s this scummy ray infested club that gets the breaks.

On reflection, a good humbling experience. Atleast, it will stop a lot of the "farmers league", "nobody can stop City", "unbeaten since February" comments and people can actually focus on another exciting 4 team title race for now.

The 4 league games from now till the World Cup are winnable. Win those and this result would only be an aberration.

Yes all week it’s been “nobody can compete with City“ now it’s “will City make top 4” , bonkers

Don’t mate :(
Woke up this morning and first thing on my mind was this

He just got out muscled for the goal. He shouldn't have been that isolated with Salah but I guess as we had a free kick up the other end we weren't expecting to get caught out that quickly.

The whole team, Pep included, gave our mainly usual half baked shit the bed performance we normally give in that shitehole.
