The markets very slightly up on the day - good for banks (apparently?)

The markets tanking during her 5 weeks in charge - also apparently good for banks.

I’m starting to think some people are commenting on things they don’t fully understand. Something I’d obviously never do.

Ordinarily, I would agree with you, as the logic is of course correct.

But if a party can elect Liz Truss - a genuine fucking idiot - then anything can happen and logic isn’t a barrier to the improbable.

It’s beaten housewife syndrome - ‘Why break up with the dickhead when everyone else is probably just as bad?’

We won’t know how good Labour are until they’re in government and are given a chance. The odds of them being worse than what we’ve had the last 12 years aren’t far off zero. That alone is enough to have them in power.
