Ref Watch

Both penalties were stonewall, crazy that anyone could even think otherwise to be honest.

For those who dont know the rules

A direct free kick is awarded if a player commits any of the following offences against an opponent in a manner considered by the referee to be careless, reckless or using excessive force:
  • charges
  • jumps at
  • kicks or attempts to kick
  • pushes
  • strikes or attempts to strike (including head-butt)
  • tackles or challenges
  • trips or attempts to trip
If an offence involves contact it is penalised by a direct free kick or penalty kick.
  • Careless is when a player shows a lack of attention or consideration when making a challenge or acts without precaution. No disciplinary sanction is needed
  • Reckless is when a player acts with disregard to the danger to, or consequences for, an opponent and must be cautioned
  • Using excessive force is when a player exceeds the necessary use of force and endangers the safety of an opponent and must be sent off
A direct free kick is awarded if a player commits any of the following offences:
  • a handball offence (except for the goalkeeper within their penalty area)
  • holds an opponent
  • impedes an opponent with contact
Thanks ref

1st pen.
I thought Cancelo made a decision and it was wrong. There is a way of challenging to put the player off and he didn't do it correctly.
On the flip side of that I watch games every week where defenders make that same challenge but nearer the dead ball line, knocking a player into the 3rd row and it is called out strengthening.
Haaland offside. It was offside so no argument.
City Pen. " Didn't see it" can't comment. But the referee thought it was and that is all that matters.

Week in and week out refs are spoiling matches by letting time wasting go completely unpunished, it’s utterly pathetic

You know what I nearly added that to my post, but I thought there will have been other games against other teams where he royally shafted us, but I can't think of any
Liverpool 0-0 February 2010. Denied us a penalty, and opted not to send Gerrard and Mascherano off for two disgusting challenges.

It was definitely a pen but I was certainly surprised to see him bring out the red.. I guess by the rulebook it's the right call. He was the last man and had no 'genuine' attempt to play the ball but it certainly felt harsh..

Mmmmmmm Half way line it’s a yellow at best ‍♂️

He was, but the Cancelo decision was correct, and whilst Bernardo was angry, his booking was also correct.
Think that's what pissed me off the most. We played into the refs hands.

Pep bollocking Cancelo on front of everyone said it all.

It’s almost the perfect foul for ticking the red card and a penalty boxes.

Penalty yes. Sending off no. A foul in the area but not denying a goalscoring position. The ball was too far from the Fulham player.

I thought that at the time, but watching MoTD, not sure he did.

For me it's a stupid challenge, we'd better off conceding the goal without a penalty and red card, lets face it nobody thinks Ederson will even dive the right way, never mind save one.
