Brentford (H) | Post-Match Thread

No surprise there, well deserved win for Brentford. They created 4 times as many good goal scoring chances as us. Absolutely shambolic performance against a team with 1 win in their last 9 games, ZERO wins away. Pep has to take a big part of the blame here, none of the players he picked looked interested in trying to win, no desperation at all, and despite that he did absolutely nothing to change anything about it keeping them all on for the entire game, with the exception of Alvarez being subbed on almost to mock all the fans complaining. This has to be one of the worst home games in years from us. Seems like our players care more about WC than the club who pays their wages. Shambolic.
I think pep should consider the constant changes in centre back. It brings instability. It is like changing goal keepers every match

Pep should be advised.
1. Do not ROTATE centre backs (Rebuen-stones)
2. St!p playing centre back as full back and midfielder as wingers.
3 stop using cancelo as the last man to defend counter attack
4 Make substitution when due. They are Not super men everyday

If I Continue to see these things I might reconsider being a fan
You certainly sound like you're capable of withstanding disappointment. Hang in there.

I have given up on PEP. I bet he doesn't have good assistant.
Three things I hate pep for
1. Constantly changing the centre back pair. This leads to instability in the back
2.leaving cancelo as the last man when attacking corners
3.
Nobody gives a fuck what a two bit glory hunting gobshite thinks but thanks anyway.

Yeah don't give a duck, but pep need to be advised. Centre back pairs are like goal keepers that you don't change. The 1st goal was a comedy of error from Laporte and akanji and stones. No leadership, no chemistry and no understanding from the back line

The players have run through bricks walls to deliver title after title for us.

One below par effort, with extenuating circumstances, and we throw them under the bus. We're in decline, no leaders, too complacent and other ridiculous comments all over this thread. Smacked arses everywhere.

We're 2nd in the league, way ahead of our main rivals putting SIX past the Rags, group winners in the CL, into the last 16 of the League Cup.

Shit times to be a Blue eh...
Too true, what gets me, is half of the people behaving like that are the first ones to pretentiously tell people not to complain about VAR decisions or the opposition tactics. They must think that's what handling defeat well means.

I think for the first time in my 13 years of going, only 18 - I confess that in the Seville game I went and got my balti after 13 minutes. I’m ashamed. Truly ashamed. However, I do think City have something incredibly special. We don’t F*CKING GIVE UP. We stay, right till end. We fight. Sometimes (as we saw against Brentford), it doesn’t pay off. Perhaps it ruins the rest of your day. But it’s those moments of Aguero, Gundo, Kinky, Dickov and now presumably Haaland that we truly cherish. Those final minutes that seem to last a lifetime… CTID

Possibly, and agree that spurs and conte will be tricky, but we coped when he played the same system at Chelsea so we’ll see. And the low block, hit on the break has caused us problems in some matches for years. A lot of things have to fall in line for a weaker team to get the points - as happened yesterday. And perhaps yesterday will be a longer term benefit - a learning opportunity for the newer members of the squad. It also shows how important Walker is.
Simple tactics to beat Tottenham. Do not press them in their half. let them have the ball then pay them in their own coin with fast counter

Oh for a David Silva type of player. We've had difficulty breaking down defensive teams. More so since he left.
Is there another one out r there?

I think Pep would like to keep the same centre backs but he's in a dilemma where he has to give everyone playing time to keep them happy. They all deserve to play. We have 5 recognized top quality centre backs fit and ready at it can't be easy for Pep. For me Stones and Ruben are our best pair along with Walker and Cancelo as full backs.

Grealish will take over from Gundogan.
Bernardo is a bit special, but City will be prepared for if/when he leaves.
The academy is bearing fruit now.
Not in those positions, it’s not!

In Peo’s system, it requires world class talent and Palmer is suddenly looking quite ordinary and certainly not ready for anything like a seamless transition.

He had the touches and the occasional silky move, but it takes SO MUCH MORE to play there for Pep.

We’ll see, as he’s quite young, but he’s nowhere near yet.
