When your best players are Stonesy and slab, you're playing deeper and deeper against the USA, your players amble back when losing the ball....

We could all see the initiative slipping away from us, they looked progressive and threatening. Raz, Saka, Bellingham, Rice and Mason fucking Mount were all exceptionally poor. The ex smoggies manager belatedly brought on Grealish and Henderson who tbf immediately gave us more midfield control. Rashford did sod all.

Maybe waistcoat is a genius and Phil collecting splinters in his bum will make him an absolute beast in the next game?!? Not very likely is it?

In the unlikely event Phil plays against Wales he'll have considerably more pressure to hit the ground running and get targeted by their defenders.

Why does he have to be so timid when he's got a bunch of technical players, in successful teams, who've played under great coaches, won stuff? What point was he making by not bringing on Phil?

Cityesque of old are nights like tonight minus the inevitable loss. Back to a fan village that charges roughly 200 quid a night. Was struggling for digs after my first 3 nights so been going halves with a Brighton lad who's gone now. Off to find new accommodation as of tomorrow. im willing to bet Grealish is on the bench too. Sterling will start again despite being in awful form.

Trippier, Maguire and Shaw are learning how to play out from the back in a possession based team.

Rice has never played as a pivot before.

Bellingham and Mount cannot control the tempo of a game.

Sterling and Saka aren’t the most clinical of wide forwards.

We beat Iran as they were really poor on the day.

The US aren’t that great and dominated the midfield against us.

We will qualify from the group, maybe beat Senegal/Ecuador narrowly and then get humped by France.

Utter shit, mate. Who fucking cares if we can smash Iran, and nullify the USA. It's largely irrelevant.
