Foden will never get game time under the Waistcoat , but i thoroughly expect the next manager to appreciate his talent and he will be the first name on the teamsheet , if you look at all the polls in europe Foden is one of the top six valuable players , Mount , Saka , Sterling , Rashford even Grealish are nowhere near the top twenty.
We will scrape through to the knockouts , then get a piss easy draw and progress to the quarters and then we will have to beat a decent world ranking team , which will be the end of our tournament and hopefully this clown of a manager.

I see Brit’s abroad misbehaving again. Video on Twitter of England and wakes fans kicking off in Tenerife.

Definition of pragmatic in waistcoat’s dictionary is boringly negative and his quote that he would pick players on form is so blatantly untrue.Sterling Mount,Dier and McGuire are so shit it’s baffling they even got on the plane

Not watched the video but Jesus wept that bloke gets on my nerves, especially when he says “make no mistake” every other sentence with his shit opinions.
I liked him as a player, but as a manager he was everything that was wrong with English managers (Reyna for Weaver then push David James up front?). His punditry only serves to reinforce that.

Is Pearce auditioning for the gig? Tactically clueless and an appalling record as a manager. Pickford is probably ditching his gloves now thinking he's going to get a game up front.
Win your first tackle, get into em, Kick the one who can play and hoof it forward to James when you get it.

That is a summary of pearces team talk.

Pearce has the intelligence of an ameba , he talks in cliche's and only gets invited as a pundit for England because of a fist punping penalty 20 years ago , he was a caveman man footballer who showed the same intelligence on a football field , zero.
Fans loved him for his never say die attitude but that is not one of the requirements to give an assesment of a football match , he needs to get his tools out again and go back to original trade as an electrician because he has nothing to offer as a football pundit.

Comedy gold Stuart Pearce " mount was our best player of the front 3"

Another ex manager who thinks defensive mindset first yep mount never stopped running pressing had one decent shot but englands best players was Stones and if he is not playing you watch Maguire look like a donkey again! Stone makes every partner far better!

I still think that IF it all starts clicking for England you can win the whole thing.
This is not a wind up
England have a squad of players from all the top sides in the top league in the world. If England were a Prem team they’d probably be the second best team in the league behind City (midfield of Bellingham and Rice is probably a bit weak).

Yet Southgate has this team playing like a struggling bottom of the league team who are favourites for relegation.

It’s awful to watch.

The tactics across numerous games have been very poor. Especially when it’s really mattered:
Going 1-0 up early doors against Croatia in the last WC semis and we tried to defend that lead like we weren’t worthy of it and got beat… going 2-1 in extra time against a poor Denmark in the Euros semis and he took Grealish off and tried to sit back and defend the lead like we weren’t worthy of it and we were getting mullered and were hanging on at the end… going 1-0 up early doors against an average Italy in the Euros final and we barely attacked again all game and tried to defend the lead like we weren’t worthy of it and Italy took over the game and went on to win on penalties (after Southgate bringing on two penalty takers on the final whistle whose legs were cold)… we got twatted a number of times by average teams in the Nations League causing us to get relegated.

Doesn’t pick the best player he has at his disposal because he hasn’t got the tactical and technical nouse of how to use him properly.

Midfielders are all too far away from each other too often so when one of them has the ball he has no passing option immediately. As soon as a player gets the ball he should have at least two passing options upon his first touch.

There’s a disconnect between the defence and attack. The full backs are too deep and the two holding players are too deep so when the attackers get the ball they’re isolated.

If Southgate announced he was leaving the England job after this WC, I don’t think any Prem team would seriously consider him for their manager’s job. Even down the bottom, when Leicester were struggling at the start of the season they would never have pondered approaching Southgate, Wolves and Southampton who’ve just changed their managers wouldn’t either, if West Ham or Everton get rid of Moyes or Lampard neither would approach Southgate.

We have the squad to win the WC but we don’t have the manager because he won’t get the team to go and win a big game.

Thought stones and maguire were the best two players. Stones again doesn’t seem to get much recognition
He’s City’s best football player of all who are classed as defenders.

He’s an incredible player, and he makes everyone he plays with better. Dias is at his best alongside Stones, Laporte is at his best alongside Stones, both Cancelo and Walker whenever they play right back are at their best when Stones is the central defender alongside them…

Even within our own fanbase he doesn’t get the recognition he deserves. He’s one of my favourite players at City, I think he’s fucking mustard!

If anyone relies on BBC Sport for accuracy or integrity, they are an idiot, full stop.
I get the premise of this comment, however in fairness to the organisation their output is more balanced than just about any other UK based media output I can think of. What I find really interesting is some of the US sports output I have watched in recent years. I used to think they knew nothing about football and some of them still don’t! But their content is balanced and they like to use British pundits for their relative expertise; the result being a much more watchful content than the likes of Sky or TalkSPORT produce.

Haven’t read the thread, but although I was pissed last night the biggest recollection I have of the performance was how utterly abysmal Mason Mount was, god knows how he played the full 90, how the fuck does he keep getting picked?
