FA Cup 3rd Round Draw | Chelsea (H) | 4:30pm, Sun 8 Jan

Apart from 1981 of course.
Thumped Palace 4-0 in the third round after being 0-0 at HT
Then leathered Norwich 6-0 next round, when Bond tried to drop down from the directors box to console his lad Kevin in the tunnel
I assume it was only his mink coat and the cigars in his pocket that cushioned his fall and prevented him from shattering both ankles

Then Peterborough 1-0 (Tommy Booth).
Everton away and then home.
Ipswich at Villa Park (Paul Power free kick) .
A memorable cup run, I managed to get to them all in my Morris Ital company car (with my brother and his pal helping with fuel costs - £1 gallon in those halcyon days).

I honestly think there’s no bent draws in English football it was what is , it’s what’s what makes the FA cup special , love the draws love cup.
Hope we have a East stand , West stand discussion in April/ May.

Up the blues.

Certainly beats the cup run of 98/99 when we played Halifax in the first round, Darlington x 2 in the second and got beat by Wimbledon in the 3rd!

This is embarrassing, rags are taking the piss because we haven't sold out. Apparently there's loads available.

Ipswich were on for the double iirc, brilliant side, but that defeat to us broke their fragile hearts

I was genuinely offered an entire hospitality box for free for 10 their last Europa game, none of them wanted to go and they assumed I would snap up the chance to watch a game at the leaky, rat-infested dump where Douglas Bader would grumble about the legroom
I said yes but I may well H Block dirty protest it like “a dog called Rover’
“Don’t be like that mate”
“If it bothers you that much, hang a flag in the Stretford End complaining about it you red shithouse”

I think the next thing perhaps is to have a seeding system for future years in rounds 3 and 4 to avoid this situation.
Maybe not all the Premier league clubs but certainly the ones in European competitions.
We will no doubt put a 2nd string side out as will Chelsea so in essence your short changing the competition a little and the fans and some of the matches are rubbish.
Bollocks. That’s the beauty of the cup. You play whoever and wherever you are drawn.

A tricky game, and our record in cup competitions is pretty poor, apart from the league Cup or what ever it is called these days
Pretty poor?

Apart from the League Cup which City have won in six out of the last nine years.

Apart from the FA Cup which City have won twice in eleven years.

I suppose that City have been rubbish in the FA Trophy and the Full Members Cup for a while? I haven’t followed the recent winners of the Lancashire Senior Cup or the Northern Counties Cup?

Cup competitions, F.A. Cup and champions league, our record in them has been poor, so what's your point?

I said we did well on the league Cup, and you think twice in 11 years is good in the FA Cup? Losing a final to ficking wigan, a semi to Arsenal a semi to Chelsea, a champions league final in the same season to Chelsea, a semi champions league to spurs and the dippers knocking us out of champions league, we have been disappointing in Cup competitions
