Old Maine Road photos thread

Platt Lane certainly had reserved seats for Season Ticket holders when it was still considered a home section. It would be painted on each seat whether it was a Season Ticket seat or not. Most, and there weren't many, were dead central behind the goal.
 
There was a photo on here I think of 2 Red Scouse being ejected from the Scoreboard End at Maine Road. It was the mid 60's, one fella wearing a suit. Anyone recall this photo?

They sometimes used to fill one area, before opening the other part. The away fans entering the newly opened bit would then all run over to the fence to be nearer to us. Sometimes they did it so that when the special was late, they had an area for them to go into without crushing everyone else. I remember one time when the away fans were in the penned area, that they then let us in from Piccadilly corner, so they were then surrounded. Not knowing how many were turning up as it was pay at the turnstile, meant that decisions were made at the time.
