No you are not the only one, I agree (but I didn't want to be the first to say it!). During the Second World War, City's rivals were unable to use their stadium in Old Trafford due to bomb damage. For a number of years, until Old Trafford could be restored United played their home games at Maine Road.

Now, bearing in mind the current Old Trafford looks like a bombs hit it (not to mention the fake bombs taped to toilet doors!) I think we should take pity on them - but as you say, only if they pay decent money for the privilege.

They're a quoted company on the NYSE. No way anything like that happens before a stock market announcement. Back in 2006, when City announced just before the AGM that they were in takeover talks (which was an outright lie), the LSE were straight on the phone demanding an explanation and a formal announcement. That left Mackintosh squirming and finally gave him the kick up the arse to actually find a buyer, instead of just talking about it.

The Takeover Panel were starting to take a keen interest just before Thaksin appeared.

As much as I hate the Rags, it seems that things are turning around for them.

They've got a manager with spine, got rid of that narcissist Ronaldo, apparently signed Gakpo, and may possibly even rid themselves of their incompetent owners (the Glazers have put the club up for sale).

That just leaves a new stadium and new training facilities, oh and a competent Dof.......... and a youth system that isn't reliant on the 1980's.


And a new centre back to replace slabhead, a new whatever to replace a 40 million pound player whose actually an 80 million pound player, a new keeper that can play out from the back, a new midfielder that isn't prone to heart attacks, a new forward who doesn't think his media image is more important than actually playing, a new midfielder that isn't Fred.

Yeh I also think things are turning round for them.
