Great phrase that Eamo. "Useless wanker" would be my description of choice but for sure yours has far more gravitas..... he was the accelerant for the decent into chaos.
Fifa wanted Brazil v France, the biggest final by far
TBF that would've been a brilliant final. I'd gladly give up watching the paint dry for that one.Fifa wanted Brazil v France, the biggest final by far
The BBC article about the record number of yellow cards mentions two other WC games with double-digit numbers of yellows. Both involved the Netherlands, v Portugal in 2006 and the 2010 Final against Spain - I'm sensing a common thread. ;-)The Dutch bench were getting involved all through the second half. No need for it.
Did themselves no favours.
Am I misunderstanding the handball caution rules again? It wouldn't be the first time.I’m not blaming the ref for the debacle caused by both teams, but I don’t agree with your yardstick for measuring what a ref can do in these circumstances.
The ref is there to apply the rules of the game fairly and consistently. He didn’t do that, and he was the accelerant for the decent into chaos.
The key moment for most that watched was Messi not getting a yellow for deliberate handball five minutes after issuing one for the exact same offence.
His decisions became more erratic after that and the players became more and more wound up.

Pele was for me too, until Maradona came along. In my very humble opinion you are both wrong: PELE is/was the greatest player ever.
Followed very closely by John Stones of course! ;-)

Many moons ago i played against a dutch team in a 'friendly' . French riot police had to stop the game. Fair comments mate. Football has evolved over different eras, so has the skill set of players. We can and should separate players into eras because of the way football styles move on. The greatest player I have ever seen is the real Ronaldo when it comes to absolute skill and dynamism.
It's very hard for the average punter to distinguish ability from hype these days, the hype has always been there but right now it's off the Richter scale IMHO.
You don’t think Richarlisons are 1 & 2 best goals?Stunning goal from Neymar which is gott so far.
Brazil got what they deserved in the end though after thinking they'd won it and began showboating with ten mins to go.
It seems like the Argies weren't such cunts afterall.
Yes Weghorst got a second yellow I thinkDid the ref send someone off ? He seems to be showing a red
I’m not sure my son would approve, but she’s everything he’d hope for…and then some! You know the rules..
Argentina vs Morocco is their dream final!Croatia v Morocco in the final.
Believe me. It’s the dream final for FIFA.
They’ll make it happen.
;-)
Never liked him. This cemented that!He doesn't look that happy after the win does he ? Comes across as a miserable git.
