We're nothing like that now, so well done him. He's also got us to finals, semi's and after 40+ years of watching England achieve nothing its been a good ride for the last few years.

That is my view too. Unfortunately Sir Bobby is in heaven so isn't available.

am puzzled to why the media are not roasting Southgate tonight ? let's get it right here, France had many players out and was there for the taking if we wanted it, Rashford Grealish Sterling Arnold Maddison should have all got game time

I haven't been his biggest fan but cannot criticise him for tonight. He didn't miss the penalty. England were probably the better team overall but France took their chances.
As far as substitutions go, he is probably in a better position to judge who is tiring from the side of the pitch than folk watching on TV.
Of his subs Mount won a penalty and Rashford was very very close with his freekick.

Am old enough to remember the clamour for Bobby Robson to get replaced - by Graham Taylor(!)

"Southgate out" has the same vibe. By historic standards he's done a fantastic job as England manager. Beware what you wish for!
