Is that is was completely expected and anticipated, so much so that a lot of us put money on it to make sure they weren't the only ones to benefit from the corruption.
Difficult to make that argument this early, especially after we likely dropped at least a point today due to a highly dubious decision (ignoring any other decisions that have influenced match results for United, Arsenal, etc.).Unless they're responsible for our inability to play through balls then probably not gonna make a great deal of difference to the seasons results
Hownhas my comment on another thread ended here?I referenced the FA because they have reps that have also made comments bout “league competitiveness”.
And I would also argue PGMOL are about as independent of the FA and PL as Merseyside Police are of Liverpool.
I’ve no idea, it just appeared, so I responded.Hownhas my comment on another thread ended here?
I wasn't commenting on your post or this thread.
my post is irrelevent now merged so I will delete it
seems someone has merged a thread with yours, no worries just it put my reply out of context with your OPI’ve no idea, it just appeared, so I responded. ;-)
And Ederson shapes his body to attempt to save where he anticipated Rashford to shoot so when ratface appears his bod
There's no such thing. Should've because Rashford couldn't finish from a tight angle and Akanji defended the goal? Or because Ederson came off the line and cut his space when he got in? Neither play involved a breach of the LOTG.I can see where you’re coming from but they should’ve beenhere's
I can see where you’re coming from but they should’ve been 2-0 up by half time, if we had their first half chances I’d want to be 2-0 up anyway
2-0 up by half time, if we had their first half chances I’d want toT
Impossible to understand.Don't want to labor the point any further than it already has, but does the referee not want to to and actually watch the replay to see whether Rashford does actually interfere?
He's literally just taking his own view of it and the fact the linesman said he didn't touch it, when he's got access to watch a replay
I heard that VAR didn't actually get involved, but why? Given the linesman gave offside, surely they all have to find conclusive proof that he wasn't actually offside in order to overturn the on field decisio ? The linesman gave offside because he thought he interfered, so why did he change his decision based on the various levels of interference that an offside player can gave
I think the more I watch the goal, the more shocked I get, and I'm not normally one to get on a refs back. I just want to know what made the linesman go from giving offside, to them both agreeing it wasn't, without actually watching the replay of the goal

Unfortunately, if it's not Atwell, it will be Madley, Tierney, OliVAR, England = same result. It's really bad when you're wishing for Anthony Taylor in comparison ...United have had home games v us, Arsenal and Liverpool this season.
In the Liverpool game they had one of those "tolerance" offside goals.
Against Arsenal Martinelli scored a perfectly good goal and VAR ruled it out.
Today they got played off the park and Attwell gave that goal.
They are rubbish, they play a Mourinho esq style and referees are handing them results. Casemiro, Martinez etc. They are genuinely crap footballers who need refereeing interventions. I wish we played them tomorrow. A referee who isn't Attwell and we slap them.
Great post. Sums up how I feel. The worst thing about today’s farcical officiating for me is not that we were robbed of point(s) or that we lost to United (though, both are bad, mind).
The worst aspect—and perhaps a “happy consequence” for those behind the incredibly suspect officiating in our matches as of late—is that it makes me feel like a dupe.
You start questioning whether you are an idiot for continually wanting to watch us play whilst trying to ignore the increasing evidence that the league are trying to manipulate outcomes to ensure they have a different winner this season.
And before the usual suspects come out and accuse me of proclaiming a complete and total conspiracy against City, I don’t think it is specifically against us because we are Manchester City. Nor do I think the manipulation is present in every match or every decision. But I do think it is becoming increasingly apparent that the league want to “protect the product” and they don’t want a club—in this case us—dominating for long periods of time in the modern iteration of the competition and so they’ll do what they can to attempt to prevent that (with varying degrees of success).
And only an idiot watches the WWE thinking it is a real wrestling match, right?
It’s begun to really hamper my enjoyment of watching us and football in general.
I have always thought that the premier league was no different to other football competitions in the world and that match fixing or manipulation has been present for decades. But it was more one-off and to do with gambling and individual dodgy situations. It wasn’t systematic.
But it is genuinely starting to feel more designed and comprehensive as the seasons have gone on. Not just against us, but with other clubs, as well, to aid the league’s cash cow clubs (PL and FA executives have even come out and said it is not good for the brand to have the most globally followed clubs not winning things).
I may be in the minority, and I know I am opening myself to all manner of abuse with this thread, but I felt it was worth sharing, as maybe others are feeling the same way.
Football has absolutely changed since I was a lad, don’t think there is good faith argument to the contrary. But the last few years it has seemingly gone the way of pure entertainment rather than at least sport for entertainment.
The drama is now the main product; the football is secondary. Broadcasters, social media, and certain clubs have ensured that transition in my opinion. I am actually starting to think a few of them see the actual football games as a bit of a hinderance to the product at this point. The drama is more profitable than the goals.
Maybe I am wrong and have just become jaded. Perhaps I just need to take a break for awhile, and regain hopefully the love I have lost.
Am I completely by myself here?

Could yet be an incredible season. And even it's not, I've seen far worse.Eight hours on and the only thing that’s changed from my initial feelings of anger, sadness, loss etc similar to when The Super League was announced is that I don’t even think I can be arsed seeing this season out.
This season was always going to be a bag of spanner’s with a corrupt World Cup slap in the middle of it right when we usually have a consistent run. You then add in how Manchester City staff treated us when LiVARpool and Chelsea fans were put above us in the South Stand during cup ties with blindingly obvious repercussions. I feel all out of fight.
I’ll volunteer for the food bank and start walking again. Disengage with this shit. Leave this sport for the children who are prepared to be active across social media platforms and get fleeced.
