No it isn't in the public interest, it's in the interest of people who are more concerned about a rivalry with Liverpool fans than allowing the Club the opportunity to carry out an investigation in the way they feel it should be carried out.

From everything we've heard from the young girl's family (who are the ones who really matter) they are satisfied with the way the club is handling it.

Unfortunately there’s no ‘actual video evidence’ of the Liverpool fan who threw the cup filled with coins that hit the girl. Without the video evidence City are unable to identify the culprit, and GMP can’t arrest and charge the Liverpool fan. As for the other items thrown by Liverpool fans, that wasn’t mentioned.

I did wonder if this would be the case. The majority of missiles came down when Liverpool scored, hence lots of people jumping about, arms being thrown about probably making it more difficult to identify. Not like someone jumping up and throwing something while the rest of the crowd was still.
