Pep’s Spurs (H) Post-Match Interview

Of course not. And I don't see it being like that.

I chose to shout crap at the half-time whistle, I don't think anyone was co-ordinating a booing-fest, minimal at best, but enough for a member of the media (Sam Matterface) to give Pep an open goal.

I'm on the same page as Pep, we have people in the team selling him and us short, I just don't think he needs to throw the fans in to the mix, it just fuels the bogus narrative about City fans in general.

Eddie has been shit for most of this season and when he does something like last night, he's always gonna get it - certainly from me.
He was lucky to get away with his brain fart in the derby when he came rushing out.

I would love to see the club do something bold and cap ticket prices in an affordable range. I cant go anymore as I'm not in the country, but I'll be honest, as much as I love City, I'm not paying 68 quid a piece for me and the lad to watch a game of football, we simply couldnt afford it.

If you build it, they will come. Not sure how much of our revenue is based on ticket prices but surely there is wiggle room there so that the people being priced out can come back.

Couldnt agree more with what he said about the squad and the (alleged) lack of desire. Hopefully it lights a candle under some of them.

Naff all mate they pretty much confirmed this with COVID, that as long as the TV money is there ticket revenue is pocket change.

I’ve said before I understand a premium for the bigger games to a point, but when you had games like Everton being £50+ at home during the Christmas/NY period it becomes a joke.

Our fan base has been a lot of 40+ age fans for a long long time , many are a lot older than that , the older fans especially (not all) just want to sit and enjoy the game now - coupled with a lot of day trippers who don’t know 1 song from another leaves a smaller number of vocal fans than you think , there certainly isn’t 36000 fans each week screaming and shouting . We have tens of thousands of teenage and twenty plus fans that are priced out , we should be encouraging them to attend through well priced available tickets -because you mark my words , when the success hits a blip then so will attendances , we should be getting these younger fans in NOW otherwise they won’t bother at all, the more fans we have with a sensible , accessible pricing structure, the day trippers will just fuck off to the latest hot shot in town , tbh , I find it slightly embarrassing seeing loads of empty seats at a lot of our games. The proof of the pudding is when we get north of 50000 at the ground for the early stages of domestic cup competitions- and that’s down to a proper, sensible pricing structure.

Great post. We do have a generation of city fans in the teens, 20s and 30s that don’t regularly go to city league games anymore. I only really see large groups of young lads in cup games or cheaper champions league games.

Once the older generation stop going the younger lot aren’t replacing them right now.

Slightly off topic mate, but I just thought I’d let you know that little fucker who runs that bar in Lanzarote you told me about is a right little miserable Leeds ****
Haha Pete is daft as a brush and a huge Leeds fan . I’m over there next month for a fortnight :-)

We are probably now a 50% local club and 50% tourist attraction and the manager needs to realize that.

Last night the amount of Asian fans around me and around the group was noticeable all with half and half scarfs. That wasnt to see City that was the Son factor.
We have become the very thing we despise, local working class fans priced out and replaced by Johnny foreigners who seems to have unlimited cash but are not going to sing their hearts out for the lads.A Group of ‘Soccer’ fans at my work UsA decided to go and watch English premier league games this weekend and got four very expensive tickets for Arsenal v Rags and four slightly less expensive Palace v Barcodes, money money money

To be contrary to Peps urges we should be deadly silent on sunday and hold up applause or cheering signs rather than make a sound ;-)
