Old Maine Road photos thread

This one ended up on Lloyd St....some bad things happened that day.
Crikey that's a long way for fans to be fighting, I used to go to my wife's Mums in Ashton avenue and got chased by about 200 Everton fans at 6 o'clock on a Saturday evening. I'd just been to get the Pink lol

Listen to Barry Davies' commentary at the end there.

"I really think it's rather pointless trying to get the fans off the pitch. They've come to celebrate, not to cause problems."

We're a world away from that now. It's all furrowed brows and condemnation.

There was a fan that had a Mazda RX7 with the number plate K10PAX and he parked it right by the souvenir shop every game I was dead jealous
Remember the bloke on the tannoy in the middle of the match asking " could the owner of the white mini come to the main entrance, your car is blocking someone in." Used to happen every game in the 70's.

Wow that was a good watch.

The ground was absolutely rammed for the Charlton game , the atmosphere was electric & loud .
Ended up in the North stand for this game with my pals from Cheadle Hulme .
We went on the pitch at the end of the game to celebrate with thousands of fellow blues .
Stan Gibson would of been fuming with fans trampling on his turf lol! .
Happy days !

Any reason in particular why the fans are all in the bottom half ?
City fans use to stand in that area on a regular basis, even the likes of Newcastle and Everton hardly filled the top pen, in fact the only teams that I can remember having the full corner were utd and Liverpool. Most didn't come anywhere near filling the top section
