PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Seems like everyone at the club thinks we've got a solid position to swing from. Quite a difference from this morning.

Just think back to Kaldoon's comments in his yearly statement...

"I will not accept this club to be used as a diversionary tactic on poor investment decisions from other clubs," he said.
"People make decisions, they’ve got to live by them. We’ve managed ourselves well and we will be judged by facts and facts alone. This is a well-run club. That’s a fact; a well-managed wage to revenue ratio that compares to some of the best run clubs in his league, La Liga and frankly in all of European football"

I doubt he would make such a bold statement if we were up to no good... I also think that we won't take any prisoners this time!

Not sure if I remember this correctly, but wasn’t he getting paid to be a consultant for Al-Jazira prior to his appointment City?

Also, why do the Prem need to know what other jobs or income streams any player of manager has?

Can you explain to me too please as I don’t believe you’re correct?

You are both right.

Mancini was paid out of AD before he came to City iirc. He may even have been on the same contract when he was at City, but the club only puts into the accounts contracts that the club has. So the AD contract wasn't in the clubs accounts. How that was reported to the PL I don't know and I don't care much as there was no FFP so it didn't matter. Technicality at most.

Section 5 (Last one)

5. In respect of the period from December 2018 to date, the Premier League Rules applicable in the relevant Seasons requiring a member club to cooperate with, and assist, the Premier League in its investigations, including by providing documents and information to the Premier League in the utmost good faith, namely:
(a) for Season 2018/19, Premier League Rules B.16, B.19, W.1, W.2, W.12 and W.13;
(b) for Season 2019/20, Premier League Rules B.16, B.19, W.1, W.2, W.12 and W.13;
(c) for Season 2020/21, Premier League Rules B.16, B.19, W.1, W.2, W.12 and W.13;
(d) for Season 2021/22, Premier League Rules B.15, B.18, W.1, W.2, W.15 and W.16; and
(e) for Season 2022/23, Premier League Rules B.15, B.18, W.1, W.2, W.15 and W.16.

Ten Premier League rules are referenced in the fifth section of the statement: rules B.15, B.16, B.18, B.19, W.1, W.2, W.12, W.13, W.15 and W.16.

Section B of the Premier League’s rulebook relates to the “governance” of the league. The rules above specifically relate to clubs interacting with the Premier League “with the utmost good faith”.

Section W deals with the Premier League’s “disciplinary and dispute resolution” process. As touched on above, the sections make clear the Premier League board has the authority to deal with these issues, as well as request confidential information from clubs where necessary.
“with the utmost good faith”.
Oh, the irony...

Maybe so.

I’m not really sure what to make of it, and he (among a few others) offer a good perspective regardless of all the noise.

I’m halfway between flapping and shrugging this off!
Is it a pure coincidence that the charges have been made 3 days after Pep referenced the HATEFUL 8
in his presser ??

Wouldn't be surprised if the bastards told the PL to get on with it.....get City, cos we don’t want a Regulator getting in their scheming,protectionist way.

We need to deal with this quickly otherwise they'll be some long term ramifications.

We'll struggle to hold on to our current sponsors and no company will be wanting to negotiate with us either presently or the in future. They may use this to cease current contracts. Business hates tarnished reputations

Our global and local fanbase may dwindle. Those impressionable you fans will hesitate to choose City as their team. Those fickle US or Asian fans (not that I give a fuck but it is revenue for the club) may quickly disassociate themselves from us. Rags, Newcastle, Dippers and the Goons will all benefit.

May affect future signings and parents of young players contemplating which premier league team they sign up for.

If we do ending up winning and are proven innocent the club needs to go full on in the world media to vent their anger, prove their innocence and threaten any liable headlines, comments with lawsuits.

Are City allowed to ask if all other 17 clubs are being investigated, we know taggart paid is son dodgy money as an agent. etc
I was told a tale years ago about that... god help Taggart if his and United's (at the time he was manager) finances were properly looked into.

You are both right.

Thanks for that.

Exclusion is a no go. We have enough following now in the overseas market that they wouldnt want to damage the 'brand' or viewership. I think the same goes for stripping titles, it would be such a blow to the 'product'.

IF we are guilty of anything it will be point deductions, fines and transfer embargoes of future seasons i would expect. This would shackle us and allow the red teams a crack at bringing back the old top 4.

PS. i know fuck all
Makes sense though.

Why would they waste their energy stripping Titles already won.

They want to stop our competing with the established cartel Clubs. Give them an edge.

So i think you are right. Any punishment would be transfer bans, and points deductions. Reason being because it directly benefits white American owned Rags/Liverpool.

That is really what it is about.
