PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Whilst I admire your optimism I'm afraid I don't share it.
There is no good outcome for this. No with one mighty leap they were free. This whole process will be engineered to cause us maximum pain. Football should give pleasure not this constant shit show.

it’s not optimism it’s realism.

No matter what happens Manchester City football club will still exist.

Now falling into place now isn’t it!?

Throw as much shit City way charged with 100 of offences white paper halted then couple days later Qatar to buy the scum! This is the power these yanks have they play dirty In business all the while using the banks hedge funds!

Especially if its false accounting we are being accused of which then then lead to tax evasion surely and other financial charges that go beyond sporting issues? The Premier League cant just say well we think you have done it if we feel our proof doesnt?

Tax evasion, should it not be a matter for the Police and Inland revenue rather than the premier league deciding? If it is why aren’t they booting down the front entrance of the Colin Bell stand at 6am and demanding to see every document, email, texts from the people within the club?

just because it says serious does not mean it some magical high bar. if we feel we are being wronged "seriously" we can indeed take it to court. besides I am pretty sure it will be the court that will take the decision if we are "seriously" wronged in the first place and that is not upto the panel. so I am sure our lawyers can come up with a reasoning if we get shafted in the tribunal arbitration process.
what is the point of just asserting stuff. The law is clear (as are the rules) that it would need to be "serious irregularity" causing "substantial injustice to the applicant." This is obviously a high bar, magical or otherwise.

Maybe they are waiting to see if any charges stick? But like you if there’s a hint at it and the profile of the club I’d expect them to be there now.

Ok, so we seem to have conflicting info regarding where the case can go. @projectriver suggests it can’t go anywhere else other than the PL panel but others have said it can. This is the thing that concerns me, and I’m sure many other City fans, the most. I have zero faith in the PL panel being ‘independent’

Given that we have already had a hearing in the High Court in relation to the investigation it seems highly likely. Also there are previous examples of where decisions of Sporting regulatory bodies have been challenged in the High Court. The difficulty we may face is that the High Court would not have as much scope to interfere with the decision as CAS did with UEFA where they basically had a re-hearing.

So in other words we can definitely take it to court if we get stitched over. If we get done for minor offences we’ll get a minor punishment and will have to put up with it.
No. That isn't what it says

Yeah - all the cunts who have assumed our guilt before we've had a chance to defend ourselves can fuck right off if they think they're getting a pint of Asahi for £4.77 instead of £5.30. And we should be allowed to shit in their chicken Balti pies for good measure - seeing what comes out of my arse after a night on the lash and a spicy curry the fuckers won't be able to tell anyway.
Would they notice re. Chicken Balti Pies!

Fuckin awful things, repeat more than the BBC.

It depends what they mean. They have already been to the High Court on procedural grounds in this matter. And can again. BUT they can't go there in respect of the substantive consideration of the facts unless the process has serious irregularities or doesn't have jurisdiction.

That sounds very similar to the right of appeal to CAS over UEFA's case - if the investigation had been sound, then CAS would have been no help (or not interested). Is that right?

I am no lawyer, but if City are punished and the punishment is deemed excessive and damaging to City on a commercial/reputational level, City should be able to challenge that in the courts.

I won’t get involved in any of the rights or wrongs of the charges but in terms of process my understanding always was that you can’t appeal the findings of any commission any appeal to the HC is limited to any sanction that may be handed down.

Stefen is great to listen to when he’s not talking about the shit he does for a living. He’s the only voice that doesn’t sound like a twat on the 93.20 pod. I like his opinions but he’s not half a doom merchant some times. He’s deffo avoiding cracks in the pavement and walking around ladders instead of under on a day to day basis.
I just can't be arsed living in delusion. And as to my general outlook on life? I still blame Manchester grey clouds and City in the 80s for infecting my entire psyche. Blame them.

Nope, literally can't challenge on those grounds. Next.
