PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Save to the extent that the Panel members may have their own biases, I think you should assume quality arbitrators are objective and will deal with it fairly. But even in the Courts, litigation risk is always high. Few cases have merits confidently over 70%
This is why I can’t understand the clubs position on this with their non compliance

they must think they have a rock solid case to beats those odds otherwise why take the risk that you lose and the world caves in

surely they could have settled this with a fine and a slap on the wrist to not do it again ?

they literally don’t want to admit any wrongdoing , a lot of peoples reputations are staked on this

what the hell will the club look like coming out the other side if we lose ! Scary thought

Jordan is a racist he hates us, his missus Dewsbury is on that shot GB news spouting crap, so they go hand in hand, he’s a failed football owner who’s jealous he hasn’t got 10% of the intelligence of our owners, do t even bother with him.
I love the way the orange scrote insists on using big words but constantly fcuks up.

Does Simon Jordan ever attend games at the Etihad?
I see Simons been very forthright in his views about our club whilst protected in his cosy radio studio, I think one or two blues would be interested in having a open & frank discussion about matters face to face :-)

I saw him in Manchester 2 weeks ago. He was up for the Smith Eubank Jnr fight. Looks as ridiculous in the flesh as you’d expect.

The comments on that article shows how much damage the press and alike have done to our club ( blind hatred ).
If we get through this and I believe we will we should take the fuckers to the cleaners no matter what the cost.

It's a bit of an apple and orange situation but take a look at Real Madrid and how they have always been proactive with issues regarding the image of the club and their players. Just recently, Vinicius was racially insulted again and RM went to court to ask for punishments for the club and their fans and to also ask for more protection for Vinicius. They weren't trying to single out the good batch from the bad batch as we tend to when the barbaric dippers assault us for the 9999.99th time, rather they wanted a punishment that would teach every and anyone associated with Mallorca a lesson.

We need to understand that sometimes being quite doesn't necessarily translate to being the bigger man or taking the high road, sometimes silence could give the wrong impression and most of those clueless dumbfucks commenting on that article are either interested in seeing their club reap where they haven't sown by picking up our trophies and players, while the other half are just sheeps that have been easily manipulated by the media.

Either way, we need to start being proactive. As it stands now we aren't even reactive just fucking docile. How long are we going to walk on eggshells? Shit like this comes up and instead of putting up a defiant strong image, we fall back while some bullshit clause about "Pep walking away if the club has been dishonest" is being talked about.

Unless Pannick can highlight that we’re not being treated fair and impartially.

Having a season ticket holder of one of the clubs that has without doubt pushed the PL to investigate us and which will hugely benefit from any punishment handed down by said Arsenal fanatic would NOT be fair nor impartial. Therefore, not what’s been promised by the PL = irregularity.

I don’t think someone’s football preferences will come into it. If you’ve carved out a legal career like that, why would you put your credentials as being impartial and professional at risk for what football team you support?

Tbf, this stage is a PL Commission. After that there is an appeals panel and after that arbitration. I expect the ability to appeal and go to arbitration was an attempt to ensure that accused parties could not go to court alleging onerous behaviour.
There isn't a PL appeals process for this though is there? I may have gotten confused trying to catch up this morning mind.

I honestly cannot understand why at this stage the PL went public with the charges and briefed the media before informing us. Surely they would go public after we've had a chance to reply?

Saw some Villa fans yesterday explaining that they have been affected most as they were a solid top 6 club and pushing for top 4 every year and then we came along and ruined it.
Villa fans are hilarious. They despise us, which I can only put it down from City taking their best players away from them over the years.

Those 6 points they lost to us every year before their relegation really tipped the balance.

If you handed punishments out to City, which may or may not involve relegation, you would be just meh about it?

Imaginary sanction of the day, suggested by a Burnley fan: hand one senior player to each other PL club.

In reality, it'll be fines and Premier League penis-posturing until judgement day. That's assuming it doesn't die away or get withdrawn. Can't see how the PL know more than UEFA and how the rules for the domestic league supercede Europe's supposed biggest cash card. If the PL has stronger rules and powers then UEFA is weaker than I thought. Anyway, after the PL finish, will FIFA come knocking? North-west Counties FA? Greater Manchester FA? Manchester FA?

I think this will be the end of the Premier League as we know. City will bring the house down and all these jealous clubs will get there comeuppance.
no it wont, we read too much of this type of nonsense ,if city are found to have done no wrong we will carry on as usual, because that usual earns us 600m a year, so there will be no "bringing down the house of cards" we saw what happened after the uefa trails, fuck all changed.

It's extraordinary. I don't know how we can be accused of very serious accounting malpractice and yet see our case go to an independent hearing of this kind. The Serious Fraud Office and/or HMRC must surely be taking an interest in the explosive nature of these allegations. There will surely be questions about the competency of the PL if they failed to detect falsification, as well as many other bodies that scrutinised our accounts and ultimately signed them off. I agree with Stefan when he says that it is entirely plausible that the PL simply do not understand of what it is they are accusing City. This has the potential to become an extremely ugly affair and goes beyond the UEFA allegations in terms of severity. It would also appear that some of the professional courtesy that City shared with UEFA is lacking with the PL. After the CAS verdict, Khaldoon called Ceferin and they had a cordial conversation. I don't see something similar happening here - I think that the outcome could shake the foundations of the PL, particularly with independent regulation in the offing. I should imagine that the UK government will only be emboldened to introduce independent regulation if one of its key security allies and trade partners is wrongfully smeared by an organisation that is in the grip of certain members with too much influence.
There is a bigger picture. Im glad you allude to this. PL have opened a can of worms and really don't know what or who they are dealing with. It's all about control and power. We all need to recognise globalist elites are increasingly running the show whether we like it or not. It is the reality. Who has the biggest influence in this battle? You decide .

You know, if there was any justice in this world, I could have dated Rihanna and had a fling with Angelina Jolie

100% this would NOT qualify as serious irregularity

Ok, so we seem to have conflicting info regarding where the case can go. @projectriver suggests it can’t go anywhere else other than the PL panel but others have said it can. This is the thing that concerns me, and I’m sure many other City fans, the most. I have zero faith in the PL panel being ‘independent’

Are you suggesting a panel of Phil Thompson, Daniel Levy and the GPC won’t be impartial?
