Oh dear, Paddy Crerand....

....he was also a coward and and lying bastard.

He blindside suckered punched David Wagstaff in the tunnel at half time in the 1963 Derby after Waggie had given them the runaround.

Busby heard of the punch and demanded to know from Crerand if it was him who'd did it.

Piss can Crerand didn't own up and the rest of the chicken shits looked at the floor.

Waggie played the second half in a daze, the rags equalised from a disputed penalty near the end and City were relegated 4 games later.

Shitstains then ....Shitstains now !!

My Dad went to a Sportsman's Dinner once and when Crerand found out my Dad was a Blue he wanted him off his table.

Don’t think it was long after City fans smashed up his old pub in Alty so he probably had an axe to grind.

To be fair,i got chatting to him in an Italian in Swinton a few years ago,he came across as surprisingly ok.
He was very complimentary about King Colin.

I beg the forgiveness of each and every Blue ....
Many years ago, I was driving down Bradford Road, and as I was passing Ancoats hospital, a pedestrian came out from between two parked cars.
I jumped on the brakes, and managed to stop in time from hitting him. He had his hands on my bonnet, and when he looked up, it was Crerand ....
Again sincere apologies to all.

Did he blame you for driving on the road?

Used to drink with his lad and Tommy Doc’s son around Alty. Always lots of rags players getting lock ins in The Park, named after Celtic Park. Crerand came across as a bully but had some good times in that pub.

Attended xaverian 6th form late 70s. Sons of stiles, crereand and and docherty in attendance similar times but bit younger than me. John stiles good footballer (nobby watched school team, quiet nice man). John credit to his dad. Think crerand got a fellow student up the duff. Crerand and docherty not well thought off

One of the younger Crerands was at Xaverian when I was there in the late 80s. Dickhead really rated himself
