RB Leipzig (A) | Post Match Thread

Haaland had a decent chance before their equaliser. Just whislted past the post after beating Gvardiol
That was his only chance like that the whole match. City have to figure out how to exploit that mismatch more often. Every player's first thought should be to get it to Haaland whenever they recover possession. I think that it's going to come but there are still some growing pains with the new formation.

Just back at the hotel after having to walk miles due to a transport strike and then getting pissed about by the police.
Thought we played really well 1st half but looked a different team second.
Great support tonight and good to see so many young fans supporting the club

This team has fucking no chance of winning the CL playing like that.

It’s like we are actively trying not to score. We have the best striker in world football and yet we completely ignore him. Whatever you think of Grealish and Mahrez, they are fucking terrible wide men for Haaland. They don’t get to the byline, they don’t get crosses in and they don’t do anything 1st time. Next time anyone wants to moan about KDB…watch that game.
Totally agree

Our style of play actually makes Haaland much safer from injury, if we are playing counter attacking football with our schedule i think he is much more susceptible from injury.
Not sure if this is a wind up :-) of course Haaland is much safer from injury with our style of play, i bet his fitness is top notch with the amount of running he does without actually having the ball.

And play more into RB Leipzig's hands?

even the games we won villa 3 up half time come out half arsed they scored!

forest same as…

and before anyone throws in arsenal game the players knew was a big game… so tells me management and players only up for gig games surely?!……

You're angry because in games we won the opposition scored?

I have to say, I was surprised and impressed by the amount of young uns in the crowd.

Potential big banana skin now in the home tie
All because of totally inept use of VAR

Time to give it up, it’s become a waste of time and a farce

Kane lol. He would stuggle and he would of been part of our injuries this season if that was the case.
That's absolute nonsense Ray, and you know it.

I'm pretty sure that Pep would enjoy working more with Kane than he has with Haaland. Kane's not just a striker, he's a team player who's more adaptable than Haaland.

Haaland has age on his side, but Kane is a better footballer and a very good leader.

Didn't lead Spurs to any trophies despite his goals. Missed a vital penalty in the World Cup vs France. Didn't win the league when Leicester did despite us and the rest being completely out of the picture.

They had by far the better chances and we were lucky to get a draw. We are boring to watch despite having the best young striker in the world. Turgid. Zero chance of winning this tournament. Not a cat in hells chance.

Wtf? Best chances?

To use a boxing analogy, the higher up the ladder you go the less likely you are to stop your opponents with the first few attacks you launch. Tougher opponents are more durable, can withstand greater punishment and have the mental strength to regroup and then launch their own attacks. That’s exactly what happened tonight.

Nobody likes to concede an equaliser but a draw was a decent result tonight.
I guess our perspectives differ on RBL. I see them as a 5th place side in a non-competitive league. They're designed to challenge for a CL spot but not to win any trophies. Meanwhile City have class up and down the pitch along with the best striker in the world. My boxing analogy would be that if you're the most powerful and feared heavyweight who gets matched up with an outgunned opponent you should knock him the fuck out as soon as possible because the longer he hangs around the better chance he has of catching you.

When we look back on this match I'm sure it won't matter because City will likely advance but it would be great for the team if they could find 4th gear again and start bullying teams like they used to.
