Bournemouth (A) | Post Match Thread

Most of you are being blinded by the result imho.

I thought the performance was ok, nothing more.

However, we took our chances and that changes games and results.

Bournemouth we’re comically shit and will go down.

Thought Lewis had yet another really good game and his drifting into midfield suits Gundogan and gives him more licence to play higher up.

3 much needed points and really pleased to get back to winning ways.

It was a carbon copy of the Villa game 2 weeks ago.

Pretty good first half, get all the goals in to kill the game, then sub everyone off and coast in 2nd gear until the 90th minute.

They’re good games in a long season but not the kind of thing that changes the teams form.

to be fair to phillips hes hardly played so will take him time to get going
He's been training for weeks and picked for the bench.
I appreciate that he'll be rusty, but he didn't look like he was anywhere near ready to play today. He looked like a rabbit in the headlights when Bournemouth were attacking. Only Walker looked worse.
If we had only been one up, there's no way Pep would have brought either on.

Do people think that Pep bringing on all the reserves for this game makes it more likely they’ll play Bristol City in the week, or more likely Pep will play the rested first team?

Great win. Excellent first half. Obviously with all the changes, the second half was much more stop-start, but I appreciated Pep making so many subs and letting some of the lesser-seen players like Gomez and Phillips get a run. Thought they both had a couple of decent moments, considering their lack of minutes, and Perrone looked nice and lively.

Grealish wasn't used as much today as the ball seemed to spend much more time on Phil's side, but I think the Jack, Phil, Haaland, Alvarez front four could be absolutely deadly if played together more often.

On to the next!

We only drew the second half according to Sky? Does that mean we have to split the points?
The cunts honestly only use that shit with us. It's the full time version of "theyll probably go in the happier side" when we're just 1-0 and have 76% possession.

Spot on.

3 points, on to the next one.

Made that bunch of fucking amateurs look like world beaters for the last 10 minutes but other than that decent performance.

Good stuff from Foden, thought he looked great in flashes and Perrone’s cameo was promising too onwards and upwards.

Shame we didn’t take Enzo up on his offer a year or so ago!

That one is going to haunt us.

Feels we struggle to gauge if a player from lower leagues is good enough or not. They obviously though Gomez would be much better than he’s been, and thought Enzo wouldn’t get enough games to justify the move.

After the recent games (Arsenal aside) that was nice. Hate it when we take out foot off the gas second half though. I don't like that mentality at all.
With over 50 games a season it is inevitable. 4-0 up and ask the guys to bust a gut and then play 2 games in the next week, not going to happen.

Yeah but for every Enzo you have a Jesus, Zinchenko, Alvarez and (by the looks of it) Perrone.

Get what you’re saying, though, and to be honest I hope Gomez’s signing didn’t have that much of an effect on if we went for Enzo.
