If each pair of boots are sold at 200 quid (my guesstimate, btw), then the manufacturer would have to sell 50,000 just to cover Jack's fee. That doesn't include any other costs for them.
So, for a return on investment, the manufacturer is looking for Jack's calves to flog, at least, 150,000 units, at 200 a pop.
That's some going.

Edit: and this doesn't include any fees for other footballers sponsorship on the same shoes.

It’s more than just a boot deal. It includes design wear and casual fashion, and his image will be used everywhere.

Many different reasons but the main one IMO is Cancelo away from starting line.

As many said before it is never a good idea to have two right footed players on the left channel.
Yeah, certainly seems like he has more of a partnership with Ake than he ever had with Cancelo.

That’s not really how advertising works. There’s value in PR and brand exposure (we’re talking about it now).

You get the feeling he's got one last gear to go up (fingers crossed this season, but probably next) and then people will be talking about him like we can't imagine playing without him, like Bernie at his peak.

10m a year apparently to wear footy boots.
Jack, when you read this can you lend me a couple of quid?
This is one of the reasons that people were too focused on his fee, because his commercial potential is huge. Not saying for a second that should be a reason to buy or play him, both of which should be founded upon playing ability and form, but to suggest marketability doesn’t feature in a player’s valuation is hopelessly naive. It’s simple maths.

Hence your package.

Not sure the maths is simple, nor the relative gains to player and club, but the concept certainly is.

You can deny he is doing well but it was a slow burner and it took after the World Cup to really click

60m for his footballing skill + 40m for his marketability.

Just rewatched the full 90 from weekend,he really was superb.

Held the ball, occupied 2 or 3 players, made incisive passes, wound the opposition up brilliantly and won numerous soft fouls.

Take his sponsorship and popularity......and that 100m is starting to look like a bargain.
Good to see him do good, but he is nowhere near a 100 million footballer . He just does not have enough goals and assists in him. I see him more as an impact sub rather than a starter next year.

Quite possibly, there or thereabouts I guess, although it doesn’t really affect me how much he cost and how the valuation was arrived at by the club, other than to observe that his value to City will extend beyond his performances on the pitch, although I stress once again, his commercial value should never usurp him being in the team merely on merit.
