@Colin Bells Boots you made me laugh out loud. :-)For his intelligence and impartiality, Danny Murphy has to be the favourite :)

Yeah, and at the time he joined the BBC it was a very different organisation. Should someone be criticised for the change in culture of the organisation they work for, over which they have no meaningful control?oh, I know - and it cuts both ways
My mate who was on City’s books got me a pair of Colin Bell’s boots and I played in them for 2 years when I was 15 - that must be why we have so much in common. For his intelligence and impartiality, Danny Murphy has to be the favourite :)
Not a patch on Billy's boots, though. My mate who was on City’s books got me a pair of Colin Bell’s boots and I played in them for 2 years when I was 15 - that must be why we have so much in common.
El Tel for meGet Ken Bruce to do it
What better than Belly’s boots - surely notNot a patch on Billy's boots, though.
See this is the problem, if you actually read and think about what he said you will realise it references the type of language used in 30's Germany and compares to this shitshow of a government we have, he didn't directly compare the Holocaust. Have a think before you type eh.
He's not allowed an opinion because he's not an MP? You're thumping a weird tub there yourselfhe could always run as an MP to try to actually do something about it instead of sitting in his very comfortable perch and grandstanding - if he does, fair enough - but give me a million plus a year and I could tub-thump all day fucking long for any cause you could mention

I know what my company would do - but that's a different matter. He seems to apply principles when it suits - and he's not wrong given what he actually said. But he's no dumbo (despite the ears) and he must have known he was leading with his chin - who knows how it will play out? But I won't miss him on MotD, as I suspect many others will not. Less chat, more footy please. Plus, I have an innate suspicion of any footballer who has never been booked in any case.Yeah, and at the time he joined the BBC it was a very different organisation. Like I said, it’s complicated.
Government interference in a state broadcaster. It's called Russia.Tory Britain strikes again
of course he's allowed an opinion - you clearly didn't read the context. He's not allowed an opinion because he's not an MP? You're thumping a weird tub there yourself
He despises City and our fans. How's that for starters? I can't believe the support he is getting on here but everyone has a right to a point of view.Never got the hate for Lineker.
He is bright, witty and crucially for me, doesn’t appear to have been egregiously diminished by fame. He also has a regional accent in a world that is replete with posh boys. Would say, given what his dad did for a living, he was working class - and we need more genuinely working class presenters at the BBC. The BBC is tediously bourgeois. And if I’m saying that, fuck me it must be bad.
Think he’d be seriously engaging company on a night out. I would say he was very well read. Think I’d really enjoy his company.
Some say he’s ‘smug’. Just don’t see that. And I spend my working day surrounded by smug cunts.
Mate of mine was in Lineker’s company on a piss-up 20 or so years ago. Said he was an “absolute disgrace“. And amazing company.
That‘ll do for me.
