The BBC | Tim Davie resigns as Director General over Trump documentary edit (p 187)

He hasn't been cancelled, though? Just checked and all his shows are still available to watch? So, you've just proven my point. Or maybe we have different interpretations of cancelled.

Nevermind, we're going round in circles.

What fumble isn't telling you is thatL inehan had a meltdown after an episode of the IT was pulled because it featured a trans character (played by a woman) that featured a slapstick fight scene. It was a mildly amusing scene but not exactly a hill to die on.

His unhealthy obsession that cost him his marriage and family life flowed from his inability to let it go.

A man who cries about that on national TV in the most self-pitying way has probably lost an edge at writing comedy.

You usually need to possess a level of self awareness, which he no longer has.

Hello good evening and bollocks

Obviously the producers went in strike as well, as far as I can tell it was simply the Sky free highlight snippets for social media minus commentary.

Kanes goal started with the celebration, then one bad replay and it was done.

Not even the intro!

welcome to what the OP predicted was a better new world - if they do this for say 4 weeks I can see the PL stripping the broadcast licesnce from the Beeb as they would be in breech of contract.

Minimal effort on all fronts by a bunch of smacked arses who are showing "solidarity" (got to laugh when using that word to describe the behavior of a load of well off TV people).

Hope it bites them in the ass 'cause I liked it, needs a bit more effort with the editing and the visual package, and it's a winner for me.

Tired show that needs shaking up.

And even though it was obviously a foul, I did miss being told by some old-pro whether it was "enough" of a foul tonight.

Glitter on dog shit.

This will be over by Monday, the chairman will back down and announce a review of impartiality guidelines for freelancers.

Always said the punditry is pointless
Micah Richards and Danny murphy describing goals we’ve already seen
A couple of weeks ago after the City game on MOTD, Lineker highlighted the good performance of young Rico Lewis and queued it up for discussion from the studio pundits.

Micah Richards mumbled something inaudible about his own career, Danny Murphy disagreed, Micah roared with laughter, Gary then moved onto the next topic of discussion, after nothing was actually said about Rico Lewis from either pundits.

Seething I was.

There are a few tweaks needed, such as a summary of the league table and a brief intro to each game. But I didn't miss the punditry at all. Lack of commentary would take some getting used to, but I tend not to pay attention to them during highlights anyway.

That involves getting a scab to do it - the last job in broadcasting they would have

And working class people still think the BBC is left wing
‍♂️

Although I'm never truly on the side of the super wealthy left sports presenters either: Linekar, Neville; whilst making good points at times it's easier to have views on immigration when you don't have to worry about limited access to resources and you aren't as vulnerable to rising crime or attacks in your area.

These people speak well in theory but they would shoot down any working class concerns immediately with allegations of being right wing or racist. Which just doesn't work. It's not always about facts it's about propaganda and winning people over. Or it's actually taking people's concerns seriously and looking at what life is like for them, why they might have the views they do or why it's a greater fear when you're poor and don't have the protections of the rich.

There's also an element of self preservation and Nimby but it's often the middle class who are afforded this. Sometines that's racism but sometimes it's genuine caution.

Still, it's good to see the Tories called out for how callous they have been with this stop the boats propaganda.

when this starts lapping at the doorsteps of Sharp. Gibb and Davies you can bet they will be looking for a way out without looking like they have caved

we will never know the better brave new world has no commentary no analysis and no VAR coverage - but of course the gammon prefer this version of football coverage. I mean if it was that good why is this the only example of its type in the world? Everywhere else has commentary and analysis on all sports
Not quite true. Quite a lot of world feeds do this. For full matches too. I watch them over Sky and BT frequently.

For future reference but the whole format does need a revamp

why? Into what? Its a format that works on ITV, SKY, BT and every other country in Europe if not the world - works for Rugby - both codes - tennis - boxing - swimming - cycling what do you think is wrong?

For future reference but the whole format does need a revamp

MOTD has had yearly increases in viewership every year for 13 years.

It doesn’t need another revamp (it went through one when they got rid of Hansen and Lawrensen). It’s incredibly popular.

It might not cater to you, or the kind of person who spends their days discussing football on a football forum, but we’re not the majority.
