Just looked, and it's still going! 14 Church Road North.
Had a mate whose family lived in Wavertree, went in a lot back in the day. He was a Scouse anomaly, he hated Liverpool and couldn't wait to leave, lol. True to his word he moved to Wiltshire, then Australia and never returned. (Superb pro lead guitarist by the way, played in some big name bands through the years)

The Coffee House is a great local community pub in Wavetree. We have Live Sport, Live Music, Karaoke along with a range of events to bring the local community together. Sunday Roasts are the best in Town and we have a beer garden with a childrens play area.

Wilmslow,Alderley,Hale or Bowden are nice plus Knutsford
Went to most of the gigs there , some cracking nights . Blitz was a great gig there and GBH was mentalwent to loads of punk gigs there in the early 80's

after the mayflower, drifters was the best place for those sort of gigs.
blitz were really good, weren't they.
think they were from chapel-on-le-frith,
along with violators, who also played at drifters
gbh are still at it, you know.
seen them a couple of times in past few years & they were better than back then

Blitz were from Buxton I believe , had a real change of direction which didn’t go down to well with the hardcore following . Ah The Mayflower , did you go to the DK gig . Now that was something else

There are loads of country house/inns with good restaurants and rooms. look at The Traddock near Settle.

Went there last week with my Sister looking for some charity shops, a coffee, and a cake.
No charity shops. Loads of restaurants and bars. In fact, the whole high street was full of restaurants and bars.
The place is absolutely dripping with money. The restaurants and bars were full.
That being the case, I would assume the restaurants are pretty decent. Rich people expect good food and good service.
Check restaurants reviews for Hale Barnes.

All great bands , if I remember rightly The Hoax supported The Exploited, Mike Joyce was the drummer of The Hoax , Dukinfields greatest ever band ; )

Went there for my Auntie’s 70th last month and it’s a cracking restaurant.
Not many French restaurants in and around Manchester either and that’s the best.
Can't comment on the eateries but I have spent a good few hours over the years watching what happens at the Town Square traffic lights, never seen any trouble, looks safe to me.
