It depends on what surgery he has.Be ten days for the wound to be healed to be sure , then maybe running , all dependant on if it had burst or not
If he has Laparoscopic surgery, the recovery time is a lot quicker and then his fitness has to be taken into account as to when he can return to training.

Fucking hate international break i know it’s not something that could have been prevented but seems to be every time we have a break we get injuries

They will still want the wounds to be fully healed before he trains , like any surgery , think he will be out a month before playing againIt depends on what surgery he has.

With this news I think the league and Champs league are gone again as I counted on peak Phil making the difference and was coming into form. Who knows maybe we get through some bad games with a good result.FA Cup achievable still.

That is the main thing. Make 100% sure he doesn’t come back too soon. His health is more important than football I’m afraid.Must not return until fully well. Rest up Phil.

We’ll the report I read said emergency which makes me think it came on suddenly and maybe burst. I hope I’m not being pessimistic. :-)You would think he would withdraw from the England squad before the surgery not after.

How long was he actually out for ?In American Football, Joe Burrow ruptured his appendix last July, and the initial prognosis was for him to be out 1 to 4 weeks Hopefully Phil will be back swiftly

He’ll be back in 2/3 weeks so hardly a season ending injury. Grealish playing well, Alvarez capable of hurting anyone and Mahrez is pretty reliable. We have more than enough to cope without either of em for a couple of weeks.Get well soon Phil.

I had a perforated appendix when I was in my teens, Doctor said I was lucky to have survived, glad Foden has had surgery before any complications.Think sometimes they treat it but if they think it might burst they get it out, just key hole surgery mine burst before they got it out though, then it’s quite nasty and needs a big cut to get it all out.
