I think there's probably a grain of truth in the fact that when times are good it's harder to a ticket to a big game at Anfield as there is at Eastlands, and that Liverpool have a bigger "reserve" crowd in London and the south-east to fill out places like Wembley for semi finals. I think this is changing at City (who knew a decade of success would generate more global support???), and I have zero doubt that the gobbiest social media losers most obsessed by this wouldn't be able to find Liverpool on a map.
