Liverpool (H) | Post-Match Thread

I watched the match back & fuckin hell, we were good! Seriously, this was a complete performance from start to finish & from back to front.

I wasn't worried about Haaland not playing & neither was I worried when we went a goal down. I just knew we'd got the task in hand & to be patient & trust the boys.

This result was no fluke. We systematically dismantled the Scousers & left Klipperty pondering why he bothers with football.

Personally I think our title challenge is over. Many have been waiting on Arsenal's collapse & as I've been saying for months, I can't see one coming because they're the real deal.

We missed our big opportunity when they lost to Everton & we failed to capitalise. Never say never though, & we'll fight to the end & all that, but ceding the title to Arteta's Arsenal will hurt a lot less than if ManUre, The Dippers or Spuds won it.

I'm gutted, but I'm also OK with it as I can see the same level of squad progress since the new year, that we made in the second half of Pep's first season with us in 2017.

I sense something special is brewing if we continue as we are. That's why for this season the Champions League is the most important quest for City in my mind. I wanna get this monkey off our backs & right the poor tactical performance of our only CL Final appearance.

The difference in City post-Cancelo, is night & day! We're playing with smiles. We're playing with confidence. We're fighting for each other & everyone seems to care about every goal & victory we achieve, which is in stark contrast to us early season.

Someone PLEEEEEEEEEASE keep Cancelo away from us, as it seems he was the toxic influence badly affecting our early/mid-season form & prospects.

Yesterday's result was MASSIVE & illustrates why this is such a special time to be a Blue... :-)
I don't think Arsenal need to collapse, just lose two games: one against us and another one. We've peaked at the right time and it wouldn't surprise me if we went on to win all of our remaining Premier League games.

just lose one and draw any other and that's all the space we will probably need.

They only actually have to draw one as well as losing to us. We have a better GD.

I know the permeatations of the game in hand & them needing to come to the Etihad. Even if all that went our way, we'd still be 2 points behind with remaining games to play rapidly diminishing.

Their season is effectively over & they've now got one game per week & only the PL to concentrate on, whilst we're still in the FA Cup, CL & still in with a chance where the league title's concerned. It's not impossible by any stretch of the imagination, but it's advantage Arsenal.

As for having to go to Klanfield? It depends which Dipper team turns up. The 7-0 against ManUre Scousers or the 0-1 to Bournemouth Scousers?
I think that sometimes, the lack of midweek games at the business end of the season, could leave the Arse with too much time to think about the pressure. Playing twice a week for the last two months of the season keeps the team focused on the next match only and can be a blessing. Pivotal game at Klanfield next week, drop points there, and lose to us and its wide open !

I was never really bothered about the victim tag, never sung it to be honest. I am now fed up to the back teeth of the dippers always playing the victims card. Its fucking boring. Grow up you bastards.

I have found myself using the term more and more since our coach was attacked. Plus all the fake tickets, jibbing in etc at the cl final and still they get compo and an apology. Its un-fuckin-believable. They wanted paper tickets to make it easier for fakes, they were filmed jibbing in.

Wankers !

As per usual, Van Dick gets aways with constantly giving forwards a two-handed shove in the back during aerial duals. Ref's totally ignore this persistent fouling.

It’s genius what Pep has come up with for Stones, we now have a double pivot and Stones has got the capability to take the ball at pressure and look forward. It opens up extra options of passing lanes going forward rather than just Rodri finding them. Probably why we have created and scored a lot more goals recently.
John Stones is a fucking outstanding footballer.

His reading of the game is flawless and it’s that that always allows him space and time and subsequently gives him the time to be composed as fuck.

TAA and VVD are shit at defending. It’s being exposed in their new system, where the DMs aren’t doing it for them. Grealish and Mahrez ran at them at every opportunity. I don’t think Grealish was tackled once yesterday. That was his best performance hands down. When he gets the ball and runs at the defence they absolutely shit themselves. Incredible performance.

Agreed. The point I'm making is Arsenal have the advantage & it's their title to lose.

When Arsenal lost against Everton, many of us wanted the PL trophy handed to us there & then, & were contacting Bet Fred for an early payout.

However I warned that Arsenal's loss would only be our gain if we capitalised on it, & we fucked up. Nothing's a foregone conclusion, but we're relying on ourselves to win our game in hand & to beat Arsenal at the Etihad, but that still leaves a two point deficit.

Arsenal are in as much danger of dropping points as we are, as this season's proved. We've failed to take our advantages throughout the season & now the PL title is out of our hands.

I just feel our current form has come too late for us to control our PL destiny in the games left, hence why we're relying on Arsenal faltering at some point which I'm increasingly failing to see...
